Tennessee Titans OTAs are well underway this week, and the takeaways are largely positive. Marcus Mariota is lookin’ pretty good. The defense, as a whole, is making it tough on the offense. And, Corey Davis looks like every bit the number one receiver we anticipated him to be.
So, I don’t know what kind of ship Mike Vrabel is running, but it’s apparently doing some good.

What the hell is this? I can barely keep track of what’s going on. Jim Wyatt is a veritable wizard for being able to see this, process it, and write about it.
How do you draw this up? “Okay, receivers…line up. When I blow this whistle, everyone just run a different route and catch a ball.” But, how do they keep from running into each other? I mean, they’re everywhere! Receivers are literally appearing out of thin air.
I don’t know about you guys, but I only saw two or three receivers line up. But, like…six caught balls.
Also, where are all the balls coming from? Mariota, Luke Falk, Blaine Gabbert….are they throwing multiple balls? Or, is Matt LaFleur out there slingin’ pigskin, too?
So, many questions. I’m not quite sure how I feel about these sorts of things. How does this make the team better? In what game situation are receivers going to have to worry about catching one ball out of a dozen flying around the air with no defensive coverage?
Guess that’s why the coaches get paid the big bucks, and I’m just sitting here blogging.
On a serious note, big Jonnu Smith fan. That kid’s the future.
