It’s been common knowledge in Nashville for a while now. Shake Shack is indeed coming to town. But, details of its debut have been a little scarce. Well, the bomb dropped a couple of days ago, and now we know – August 23, 2018, baby! The doors will open.

Wildly popular Danny Meyer burger joint Shake Shack will officially swing open the doors in Green Hills on Thursday, August 23. The first Tennessee outpost of the burger joint is a 4,000-square-foot space in the prominent corner at the Hill Center, located at 4031 Hillsboro Pike. Green Hills’ newest restaurant sports a sizable patio and seating for over 200 cult-following burger eaters.
The menu features all of the classics, including the standard ShackBurger, crinkle-cut fries, and shakes, as well as frozen custard concretes featuring Nashville-exclusive collaborations with local food purveyors Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Co, and Little Mosko’s. There’s also a burger featuring Peg Leg Porker’s seasoned cracklins.
Diners can sip on local brews from Yazoo Brewing Company, Jackalope Brewing Company, The Black Abbey Brewing Company, and Tailgate Brewery, plus Shake Shack’s exclusive Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister® Ale. Wine lovers can order a glass of Shack RedTM and Shack WhiteTM wine from the Gotham Project.
This is a huge win for Nashville. So stoked. Shake Shack is one of those places that has a sort of cult following. Oh? You thought I’ve been? You thought I was excited because I can’t wait for that delicious food? No….no way. Never been – now I am completely excited to try it out, but I’m just happy for what it says about our city.
It’s just another mark of Nashville’s progress, y’know?
We are worthy of a Shake Shack now. That’s something we should all be incredibly proud of. Yeah, there’s a lot of good things happening in Nashville right now, but none of it was Shake Shack until now. That’s a huge step – this is bigger than getting a MLB team. This is bigger than any country musician opening an 18-story bar with 2,000 different flavored vodkas on tap. It’s the motherfucking Shake Shack.
I can’t wait to try it. I’m just looking at that photo, salivating at the prospects of eating a tasty burger and sipping on a nice brew. Is it fast food or is it casual dining? That sort of ambiguity is part of its draw. I’m already hooked and I’ve only seen pictures. Crazy.
It’s going to be hard to top this accomplishment as a city, but if I’m MDB (Mayor David Briley), I’m on the phone with In N Out Burger right now. That’s the crown jewel that’s missing before Nashville can truly call itself an elite city.
