Aaron Rodgers played out of his damn mind against the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football. There’s no denying what a spectacle that was. The dude was knocked out of the game in the first half, and it looked like Sunday night was going to be the Khalil Mack Show as the Bears jumped up 20-0.
But, then, like Superman rising from the grave in Justice League, Rodgers returned to the field and engineered some second-half heroics. Bum leg and all, the Packers offense would not be stopped as #12 willed his team to victory.
Pretty amazing, too, given how replays consistently showed his leg locking up. At a certain point, it looked like he was merely dragging his leg around the field. Clearly hobbled, and clearly in pain, you couldn’t help but wonder whether Rodgers was human or not.
Well….if his post-game interview is any indication, I think we know how he persevered….because he probably couldn’t feel a damn thing in his entire body.
“MUH KNEE!”
I just love how happy he looks – like, he is borderline giggly, just smiling throughout this entire interview. But, man – it looks like there are barely any thoughts flowing in his eyes. Just happy. No worries – just that sort of high that can only come with excessive use of painkillers.
Now, we don’t know for sure that Rodgers was on painkillers of any sort. But, hot damn – that dude looks like he’s on a different planet. And, yeah – I guess I should be responsible and say that this is purely speculation, but oh well….this is a fun post! There’s no place for responsibility here.
You can tell he’s careful not to reveal the results of any testing that went on in the locker room, too. “We took some tests and I told him I’m goin’ back out there!” That sounds like tight medical practice. Like, nope – don’t give a shit that my knee is literally falling apart, I’m gonna play!
Regardless, I hope he didn’t drive home that night.
