Recapping Our Awesome Halloween 2018 Coverage

Alright, folks. Our #SpookySeason content plan has officially wrapped up, as the big day is nearing. Halloween 2018 is just about in the books. Whether you celebrated over the weekend (I hear downtown Nashville was an outright shit show), or are having a much calmer, tamer Halloween, I hope you’ve enjoyed the season, and I hope you’ve enjoyed the posts we’ve created. It was a big year, as we’ve released 40 items of content relating to Halloween over the last few weeks.

Like our foray into the independent wrestling scene, it’s something I didn’t really see as a viable boost to the website. Once again, I’ve been proven wrong. The numbers back it up, as thousands of people have tuned in to SoBros Network to read some sort of Halloween-related article over the last couple of years. With that in mind, it’s probably something we’ll take a little more seriously next year. That one’s on me.

But, on to the actual coverage, MAN! We had some excellent features this year. I mean, yeah – we had our usual costume guide. Probably a little late to get something going, but it’s still good for a laugh or two. My favorite may have been our trip down memory lane, when we looked at our own favorite costumes from our past.

Our Patreon subscribers got a treat as Lane, Mose, and myself sat around and shared some scary stories about real-life stuff that happened to us. It was ultra creepy, and you can subscribe here to get your access.

We had several commentary/humor pieces – someone getting stabbed at Nashville Nightmare, these adorable Transformers costumes, a dad terrifying his daughter, and a dude dressed as a scarecrow getting run over.

“Nature Boy” Brandon Vick had a busy month. He caught the new Halloween flick and wrote up a full review. Not only will you find his series of horror reviews listed below under his Halloween-themed Movie Review Rewind, but he also looked back at the state of horror from 2016-2017. He and Mose also teamed up to dish on the worst horror movies of all time on a new episode of Brandon’s Box Office In Your Mouth…a show that has drawn much criticism towards Brandon for his take on one of horror’s all time classics.

Our friend E pitched in and wrote an excellent feature on the 12 Hours of Terror at the Belcourt. How anyone was able to endure that long of a movie marathon is impressive, but not as impressive as her ability to document the experience it and share it with others.

Then, Rubber Rooster wrote one of the spookiest pieces we’ve ever run on the site – a detailed, and personal, tale of the Point Pleasant Mothman…something you probably shouldn’t read if you want to get some sleep tonight.

We added to the mythology of SoBros Scary Stories:

Brandon added a whole host of new movie reviews to the Movie Review Rewind archives!

And, of course, I have to mention Gorgeous Boyd’s Halloween-themed edition of Straight Forward Fashion, and the fun I had with spooky season editions of New Music Thursday.

Be sure to enjoy the big day, folks, but enjoy responsibly. Don’t drink and drive and all that. If you have kids, be sure to check all the candy, and don’t feel guilty if you raid it for your own favorites. I know trick or treating is for the children, but damn – it’s a ton of work. You deserve a tootsie roll or two. Happy Halloween!!!
