Let’s Break Down This Cat’s Fighting Form

If you’re a cat, you have to work on your fighting form at all times. I mean, hell – you’ve been at war with dogs for how long now?!?! You didn’t make it this far by sitting idly by and taking and short, frequent naps in the sunshine every day. Still, it’s rare that we get to see the true fighting stance of a cat in action.

Today, we have just that. So, let’s break this thing down, why don’t we? As usual, here’s a link in case Instagram takes this video down.

Needs some work on the balance aspect, but I get it. Cats don’t naturally stand on their hind legs, so that balance integrity is going to suffer a bit.

But, two things I’m incredibly impressed with here – the ‘bob and weave’ movement. You see champion fighters utilize this move to disrupt the timing of their opponents. This cat has obviously been in the gym working on that.

Second, this cat knows to close the distance between it and its opponent in order to reduce the risk of taking a heavy blow. We don’t know whether or not this cat can really get down and grapple, but it sure has the fundamentals of positioning down.

All in all, I’d definitely say this is NOT a cat I’d want to cross in the octagon. It sure seems like a valuable asset to the cat army in the ongoing war against dogs.
