Let’s Talk Some Shit About That Patriots Game

Let’s get this out of the way first. We’re a bunch of Titans fans on this website. FFS, we’re in Nashville. We don’t get the opportunity to talk shit like this very often. So, you better well believe I’m going to take this opportunity to do a victory lap on the Patriots game while I can. I may not get to write another post like it again this season.

Second, I’d like to apologize to dear friend of the site, Ben, for writing this. Hopefully, he won’t see it. But, if you are reading this, then just know that we don’t mean to torture you and that you are one of our favorite friends.

Now, on to the shit talk.

The way the got dang Tennessee Titans absolutely demolished the New England Patriots was as impressive a win as you’ll ever see inside the confines of Nissan Stadium. At 3-1, I referred to them as the “BDE Titans,” but that team disappeared for a month. Now that they’ve outscored opponents 62-24 in their past two games, I’d say they’re back.

But, that 34-10 win yesterday over the Patriots was completely demoralizing, and I can’t really remember the last time I saw a win that decisive. Even the playoff game in Kansas City was a nail-biter that could’ve gone either way. Even that Packers game in 2016 felt like a lucky break for the Titans. This game was total nonstop pummeling from the Titans – they really bent Tom Brady over the barrel and showed him the 50 states. It was shocking.

But, then you had Dion Lewis coming out in the post-game and calling the Pats “cheap,” saying they made the game personal. That’s wild – not used to that.

I don’t know if the Pats specifically got their asses kicked because they elected not to pay Lewis. Feels like there was more to that ass beating than that, but I will let the man have his moment.

BUT THEN!

Sorry, but this is totally dramatic stuff. The head coach and champion of BDE Mike Vrabel came out and threw some shade.

In fairness to the most handsome coach in the NFL, the Pats running that play was awful. Brady looked like a baby deer walking for the first time. It could not have looked more awkward. But, even then, you don’t expect the opposing team to come out and go for the same play and execute it to perfection right in the faces of the guys who just blew it. That was SAVAGE. I don’t know if that was Vrabel or Matt LaFleur making the call, but it broke the BDE spectrum.

Lastly, I’d like to mention the Boston fans. Again, I love you Ben. But, these fucking Pats fan RAIDED downtown Nashville. We were at the bar on Saturday and they were giving the bartenders a hard time because they weren’t coming up and IMMEDIATELY taking their drink orders when other people were waiting patiently. Had a few people come up and complain to me about it. Some of the staff even rolled their eyes and told me, “these people are obnoxious.”

Our response was always, “hey, let ’em come here and boost our economy.” Our Lyft driver said, “hope they get everything but a win on Sunday,” and I couldn’t have agreed more. Turns out, they didn’t just “not get a win.” They got a landmark decimation.

And, you had this shit going on:

Did this happen before or after the game was over? I don’t understand the message here. Are you threatening Titans fans that you will eat them? Are you trying to signal that you all are going to eat the Titans as if you have any influence on the game whatsoever? Why is the go-to move here to eat the flag? Or, are you using your teeth to get the break started so you can rip the flag easier? If that’s the case, then you automatically lose points for looking weak. Number one rule of ripping something is to make sure you’re strong enough to rip it first.

But, doesn’t ripping it in half justly get the point across? Do you have to threaten to consume it too? I don’t know. I’ve never thought about it. If I rip something up in someone’s face, I typically stop there, thinking “okay, they understand now.” I have never, not once, thought, “I should go the extra mile and EAT this fucking thing.”

Regardless, thanks for your money, Pats fans. Titan up.
