Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, use #SoBrosMailbag to hit us up on Twitter.
Question:
How shocked were you guys when you’re boy turned on @AllDamnDayOShay?
— Steven McCash (@MC_Cash75) November 8, 2018
Answer:
I was pretty blown away at first, mainly because I was three sheets to the wind because people were buying me drinks all afternoon. But, then, if you had paid attention to what Brett Ison has done this year, you really shouldn’t have been shocked. This is a dude who did what it took to the get to the top at SUP. Now that he’s there, what does he need alliances for? He’s the most dangerous dude in the building.
Now, with Edwards having the year he’s had, he’s going to get ready to get his revenge next year. I hope we get that because that would damn sure be a hoss battle for the ages. Regardless, the landscape at SUP seems to be changing.
Also, cheap plug – Ison’s ‘Street Justice’ t-shirt is available exclusively at SoBros Shop.
Question:
can i borrow a pen?
— Matt Griffin (@MattTheMouth) November 8, 2018
Answer:
As long as you promise to never give it back.
Question:
Which is the correct spelling: Fritos or Freetos?
— Carl Plathers (@SoBroMose) November 8, 2018
Answer:
Depends on how much the bag costs.
Question:
Follow up question. @sup_graps is going to Mania to be a part of @PowerbombTV Family Reunion. Out of all of previous shows what one SUP match would you have run in New York to show everyone what SUP is all about?
— Steven McCash (@MC_Cash75) November 8, 2018
Answer:
That’s tough because I think you can several different ways, Steven. I still look at that Joey Janela vs. Curt Stallion match as my favorite in SUP history. But, does that match really encapsulate the spirit of SUP? I don’t think so. You have to look at what makes SUP so great, and it’s a combination of many factors – good wrestling, fun wrestling, a gritty atmosphere, and a constant flow of new talent. I think Kerry Awful vs. Mance Warner and the SUPer Scramble would be great examples of the fun side of SUP and how it could still produce some high quality graps. But, all in all, I think I go Kevin Ku vs. Tracy Williams. If I could pick a single moment, it might be Marko Stunt tagging in Cabana Man Dan at Not Problematic.
Question:
What’s the SoBros go to pizza? Specifically, if you’re having a business meeting, what type of pizza are you guys ordering?
— Cemetery Mayne (@RighteousJesse) November 8, 2018
Answer:
Oh, man – we’re big pizza guys. It’s just so easy and convenient when we have work to do. We do the bulk of our business meetings at Poppa Bear’s house in Mount Juliet, whether it’s inventory planning, quarterly revenue check-ins, business reviews, etc.. There’s a place out there called ‘TJ’s Pizza’ that is conveniently located and has a pretty damn good, reasonably prized pizza. Plus, they have a Nashville hot chicken pizza that’s pretty decent if you’re in the mood for something different.
Meetings aside, I’d say I’m a Five Points Pizza guy, though. That’s the best way to cap off a late night in Nashville.
Question:
Are the SoBros gonna form a band? And what would your band name be if you did?
— Armondo (@mightymondo) November 8, 2018
Answer:
We actually already…kinda….did form a band with the SoBros Jam Session. We’re hoping to get more of that kinda stuff up, but it’s something we love doing and would ultimately love to turn into a live music/comedy/variety SoBros show. I think if I’m going to give us a band name, I’m going to go with ‘Loaded Dicks.’ For numerous reasons.
Question:
@SoBrosNetwork #TBT to the wrestling event last weekend! Now to my #Mailbag question. It’s a team cage match. 1 SoBros 1 person from News 2. Who you picking!? And who wins!? Also, what venue is this going down in!? pic.twitter.com/6uBGAcERRw
— Brent Remadna (@RemadnaWKRN) November 8, 2018
Answer:
I don’t want to volunteer anyone for this cage match…just something about telling someone to ‘get in a cage and fight’ that seems unbecoming of a leader to me. So, I’m willing to jump in and fight for the honor of the SoBros shield. I still feel like Neil Orne has more energy than any human walking the planet, so he may be the best option for stamina purposes. I gotta say though, Brent, after meeting you and Bromondo last week, I feel like both of you guys could throw a punch.
Ultimately, I let the ramifications of the cage match sink in and it causes just enough of a moment of hesitation for Neil to escape the cage. Think about it – we are slowly but surely building a brand of entertainment that we hope will one day win over Nashville for us. I’m not going to win over Nashville by beating one of its most beloved figures. This thought hits my brain as I’m chasing Neil down, I pause for a second, and in that time, Neil uses his boundless energy to climb over the cage.
Also, there’s no doubt that this war will be waged on the hallowed pro wrestling grounds at the sports arena at the Nashville Fairgrounds.
Question:
Have you tried a Pink Whitney? Vodka and Pink Lemonade… They’re delicious.
— Woody (@woodfinx) November 8, 2018
Answer:
I have not, but that sounds incredible, Woody. I’m going to add this to my summer time rotation next year and recommend that everyone reading do the same. I had no idea this shit was named after Ryan Whitney. Learn something new every day.
