Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, use #SoBrosMailbag to hit us up on Twitter.
Question:
What’s some of your wrestling Christmas wishes? Mine is that Gunner Miller returns soon.
— Steven McCash (@MC_Cash75) November 29, 2018
Answer:
Man, Steven, that’s funny – I was looking back at our wrestling awards ballot the other day, noticed that Miller’s match with Craig Mitchell was listed among the best matches of the year, and caught myself thinking, “man, Gunner needs to get back soon.” So, I’m with you on that one.
After the events of this week have unfolded, I think I’d have to go with ‘seeing Effy vs. Nick Iggy round 2’ as mine.
Question:
Hey @SoBrosNetwork list the top 5 burgers here in #Nashville. @HuskNashville better be at the top.
— Jared Plushnick (@JaredP_WKRN) November 29, 2018
Answer:
Whew – I opened this one up to the whole SoBros group and I received quite a range of answers in response.
I actually wrote about my favorite burgers in Nashville back in July, and I think it’s largely going to remain the same: Burger Up, Brown’s Diner, and The Pharmacy. I did venture out to Brothers Burgers not too long ago, and think they have a strong contender there as well.
“The Pharmacy has badass burgers.” -Mose
“Gabby’s for me.” -Cadbury
“Tennessee Burger at Burger Republic is pretty good.” -Herbie Brooks
“That burger at Edgefield was fantastic. I’ll die on that hill.” -Poppa Bear
“I always liked Fat Mo’s, but i dont know enough to say it’s the best” -Rooster
“Pharmacy farm burger.” -Beta Ray Greg
So, it would seem as though The Pharmacy is the one name that keeps popping up. I’m going to roll with them as the ‘best burger in Nashville.’ Couple of notes, though – I LOVE the burgers at Edgefield. It doesn’t get the credit it deserves because it’s such a hole-in-the-wall type of place. But, man – it is the perfect place to pregame for an independent wrestling show in East Nashville.
I can’t offer up thoughts on Gabby’s because I haven’t had it yet, but it stirred up some pretty interesting conversation in the SoBros Slack group. We’re now planning on heading out there for a review some time. So, for the time being, let’s make it:
5. Burger Up
4. Edgefield
3. Brothers Burgers
2. Brown’s Diner
1. The Pharmacy
Sadly, Plush – I’ve yet to try the burger at Husk, and I don’t think anyone on the SoBros team has either…so, when we do roll up in there 15-deep, Husk will have to send you some free burgers for your promotional work in getting us in the door.
Question:
How would you make Robocop better?
— The Invisible Mayne (@RighteousJesse) November 29, 2018
Answer:
I’m assuming you’re talking about Robocop himself considering that the movie is pretty perfect already. So, I would make Robocop better by bringing him into the WWE for a big time wrestling angle. Let’s bring back Sting, and give Robocop and him the tag team run they should have had decades ago.
Question:
You ready to get destroyed in Fidget boys pt2?
— HasBeenSports (@HasBeenSports) November 29, 2018
Answer:
Please.
