Ric Flair is one of if not the greatest professional wrestler of all time. His larger than life persona has made him an inspiration to millions, both in and out of the wrestling industry. You see little homages to the legends all the time – classic Flair promos, classic Flair matches, photos of old school Flair decked out and standing in the middle of the road.
But, every now and then, something completely unexpected pops up. Something you forgot you even loved in the first place. Thankfully, The Wrestle Hub has put together a nice little montage of one of Flair’s greatest contributions to wrestling that I feel is often underrated: his signature face plant.
As usual, here’s a link in case Instagram takes this video down.

Gotta love it – gotta love #VINTAGE Nature Boy. Like many of the all-time greats, people remember those classic matches, promos, and moments, but there are dozens of subtle little things that pile up to form those classic things we remember about a person – the chops, the WOO, Space Mountain, the dong statue. Jesus – I don’t know why I’m talking about Flair like he’s dead, but I don’t mean it that way.
I love the face plant. Some people say it’s shenanigans and has no place in wrestling, but I say it’s beautiful and comical. No one could sell it like Flair – it didn’t matter what it was. So over the top.
But, this is just a small iota of what makes the man a legend. WOOOOO!
