The ‘Miami Miracle’ Was Some Wild Stuff

Man, right in the thick of the AFC wild card race, the Miami Dolphins pulled off an upset for the ages. They defeated the New England Patriots 33-32 after running back Kenyan Drake scored on one of those wild lateral-laden jailbreak plays that seem to only work in movies. They’re calling it the ‘Miami Miracle,’ and it is quite the spectacle.

Man, what are the odds that a play like this works? When do you ever see this play work?

I will say, from a pure entertainment standpoint, this type of play always delivers. What’s the worst that could happen? You get a decent laugh out of it when an offensive lineman ends up with the ball and goes rumblin’ bumblin’ stumblin’ for a few yards before being tackled. Or, you get some awe-inspiring display of will like this one! Just all around good stuff.

Now, if you’re a Fins fan, you have to be feeling pretty good about the rest of the season, right?

Your team is 7-6, and while the tiebreakers have them at third among the four teams at 7-6, they’re still fighting for a wild card berth. Who would have seen that coming? OH WAIT – I DID. I definitely called the Fins underrated in the preseason and instructed everyone to watch out for them. So, don’t mind me while I take this minor victory lap.
