I guess this is it – I guess the SoBros Network is officially on the road to WrestleMania 35. I’ll have to make sure to hit my quota of ‘road to WrestleMania’ mentions so that no one at WWE yells at me. Should also actually develop my content plan, but that’s neither here nor there. We’re to talk about Batista today, and what role he could potentially play…..
…..on THE ROAD to WRESTLEMANIA.
Fans have been talking about Batista potentially competing at Wrestlemania 35 since he appeared at Smackdown 1000. During his appearance, a match was teased between Batista and Triple H
The latest word is that Batista is in “deep” talks with WWE for a potential match at Wrestlemania 35.
No deal has been signed as of yet but it is looking possible that we could see him wrestle at the event.
I’m not gonna lie – I popped during that segment.
I’ll admit that I don’t know wrestling Twitter well enough to know whether this is a hot take or not….but Batista is absolutely one of my favorites of the 2000s.
Just something about the guy – he always looked like a natural, bona fide wrestling superstar. He’s jacked…looks like a badass….had the attitude…and could put on a solid match (unless he was in the ring with JBL).
So, I see this news, and I’m all in, baby! They tried another run in 2014, but it was (unjustly, I might add) shit on by WWE fans. Daniel Bryan was clearly their guy, and the Yes Movement took the spotlight off of Batista. I’m not complaining – I loved that angle, but at the same time, I always felt it was unfair to The Animal. He was in a shitty spot.
With that in mind, hell yeah – let’s get him a big time program for New York. Hell, you already have a ready-made story for him. Come back and kick the shit out of Bryan for taking YOUR spot back in 2014.
Even another match with Triple H would be awesome – it just doesn’t look like Triple H is going to be ready to go for ‘Mania.
The possibilities for Batista are extensive. WWE shouldn’t waste this opportunity to get one of HOLLYWOOD’s rising stars on the bill.
