We’re venturing down the road less-traveled this week by digging into the spoken-word rock group known as Listener.
Originally intended as a hip-hop project, this group from Kansas City took a unique transition to the creative indie rock band that has released over a half-dozen albums to date. Lead vocalist, Dan Smith, provides a hint of gruff, southern influence while he shares his message through fiery, slam-style poetry.

Each song has the capability to evoke healing and recovery, through both instrumental and lyrical means. So, while we trudge through the gray course of winter, add Listener to your playlist and keep your creative processes flowing.
My suggestions:
Must listen to: Wooden Heart
Noteworthy tunes: A Song From A Knife Salesman To His Wife On Their Wedding Day, Most Roads Lead To Home, There’s Money In The Walls, You Were A House On Fire, Good News First, Tornadoes, There Are Wrecking Balls Inside Us
Enjoy!
