Logan Stunt may have just appeared on the pro wrestling scene, but he’s got a story to tell. Of course, you’ve heard about his brother Marko (we’re waiting with bated breath for his return from injury). But, Logan is without a doubt his own man. He’s nineteen years old and already a second degree black belt. I feel like I should repeat that because my biggest accomplishment at nineteen was probably tied to the amount of Steel Reserve I could drink without throwing up.
He’s a badass, he’s the Bite Sized Brawler, he’s Logan Stunt y’all!
Logan Stunt Interview
Mose: Can you fill us in on your journey in martial arts?
Logan: I’ve been taking tae-kwondo for 10 years now. My family moved to Nicaragua when I was 9, and I wasn’t doing any special sports, but I had always loved martial art movies (Bloodsport was always my favorite). My parents found this small school that was completely taught in Spanish. Now, I didn’t know anything they were saying, but I still wanted to learn. I would have to have them show me what they were saying, and it all just came natural to me, I fell in love with the sport.
I ended up getting my 1st degree there, but right after that we moved back to the States. I came home and instantly started looking for a tae-kwondo school. I found Tae-kwondo University, they took me in and treated me like family. Since I had been a 1st degree already, they had me go through white belt, then I tested straight up to green belt. I kept working and working and working towards my new black belt, and i ended up getting my new first degree about 3 years ago. Back in December of 2018, I tested for my second degree to finally complete my goal in the sport.
M: What has the transition been like going into pro wrestling?
L: This transition has been a lot fun and more natural than I expected. I thought I’d have the hardest time transitioning from a full contact sport to wrestling. I can’t say that my martial arts ability hasn’t helped me, because it’s helped me more than I realize. I had to further my control, and learn to open my ears and listen a lot harder during action.
M: The scramble match at SUP was so, so, so much fun. What was it like being in front of that crowd?
L: Being in front of the SUP crowd was the most amazing feeling. I was so nervous, because I didn’t think people would take me in, but they did and it was with open arms. Before I walked out of the curtain I was almost having an anxiety attack, but when the crowd started singing along with my song it made me calm and ready to kick ass. I would give anything to be able to wrestle there again.
M: Follow up, how long would it take you to knock out Zach Cooper?
L: Oh…Zach Cooper. Well let’s see, give me 5 mins, or just 1 kick.
M: What’s life been like in the Stunt household with all of the success you and Marko have had?
L: I believe wrestling has brought our family closer than it ever has been. We are a happy family from what I can see. I can’t really say I’ve had success, I’ve only had 3 matches, but my brother was out there killing it for years, he was the biggest inspiration for me to get into wrestling. I struggle with a lot of stuff like depression and anxiety, but being around my brother, and these wrestlers who have become family, take it all away.
M: Hypothetically, Josh Barnett gives you the call for ‘Bloodsport.’ Who is the one person you’d love to square off with in that environment?
L: Bloodsport would be a dream come true, but I have a few names actually. Dominic Garrini would be first choice. Stand up vs ground game just seems so fun. Speedball Mike Bailey was my second biggest inspiration, both of us being from taekwondo background, I’ve learned how to use my taekwondo in wrestling.
M: What are your goals for this year as a whole?
L: My goals are to get better and learn everything I can. As for bookings, my big goal right now is GCW and MLW. I would love to be able to make my brother happy and show him I really want this and that I can really do this.
Thoughts
I can’t say enough positive things about Logan. He’s only had a hand full of matches but he’s already got that something that makes you want to root for him. What he also has is a level of determination that can’t be matched as in ‘second degree black belt’ determination. I expect to see immense growth out of Logan in the ring based off how he carries himself out of it. Thanks for the time, man. Look forward to having you and the Stunt Fam back in Nashville!
