They did it again. Somehow. Some way. Southern Underground Pro put on another show that I could argue was their best to date. No time for a cutesy intro – let’s fucking gooooooo.
Mr. Brickster vs. Faye Jackson: Faye was on my wish list for SUP in 2019 and the wrestling gods….er should I say, Stokely Hathaway, blessed us. The Final Boss brought that sweet, sweet milkshake down to the 6-1-5 and put on a show. The two fought in and out of the ring before Faye busted out a ‘Beer Shake’ that had Brick shook to his core.

Well, the Beer Shake plus all that thiccness had him shook. What was most shocking was the appearance of “Romance” in a SUP ring. That’s right – for a split second, Brick reverted back to days of old which threw Faye off enough for Brick to get the roll up three count. This was A LOT of fun.
Dominic Garrini vs. Cabana Man Dan: Oh man this was a barnburner. Dan was coming off winning the Hoss Tournament of the South the night before at New South. He was tired and battered, but you wouldn’t have known that by his performance. CMD took it to The Bone Collector. At one point, the two went straight up chop for flop which had The Basement East in a frenzy. For a second there, we thought Dan was gonna get the win and take the momentum into the six-man tag during at Family Reunion but alas it wasn’t meant to be. Dominic adds another bone to the collection.
AC Mack vs. Jaden Newman: This was without a doubt the sleeper match of the show. Both of these guys are riding the proverbial wave right now leading to a flat out banger of a matchup. Great back and forth work. Both guys hit some big shit including a nasty top rope neck breaker courtesy of AC. It appeared that Jaden may have the upper hand until his attention went to the outside thanks to Manders. AC quickly took advantage and secured the win. Seriously, this was awesome.
Kerry Awful vs. Manders: Everyone was so worried about the main event tearing the place a part, that they overlooked this slugfest. Manders isn’t one to shy away from throwing hands and Kerry Awful is….well…Kerry Awful. They fought all over the damn place and I mean fought. At one point, the two squared up then unloaded chops and forearms on one another. I was over by the bar for a bit of the match but it appeared that Manders nearly took out a group of onlookers on a dive just to get his hands on Kerry. A+++ stuff all around. Manders gets the win and moves to 2-0 at SUP.
Post-match, he told Jaden Newman to take a knee, then proceeded to spew venom all over the damn place. Jaden finally hit his breaking point and went after The One Called Manders. All eyes will be on that eventual match up.
Allie Kat vs. Kevin Ku: On a day of brutal matches, this mo fucker was something else. I could barely hear Allie’s introduction through the roar of “Meows” coming from the crowd. The two fought to the outside and, right in front us, Allie laid out Ku, then followed it up with a senton making a Ku sandwich between Body Kat and concrete.

Fuck all that. When it seemed like Dominic Garrini was going to make his presence known in the match, our hero, Cabana Man Dan, appeared and flip flop chopped The Bone Collector to the back. Allie didn’t let the opportunity slip between her claws as she flattened Ku for the victory. This was sooooo good.
Scramble Match: This was a crowded field but hot damn was this a blasty blast. Cole Radrick, Bradley Prescott IV, Wayne Moxxi, Logan Stunt, Zach Cooper, Duke Cornell, Peyton Polson and Adam Slade converged onto The Basement East and put on a show.

Cooper is officially the new “This Fucking Guy” after his verbal/physical attack on Marko (shout out Marko! we can’t wait to have you back in the ring) and Logan Stunt. BPIV showed up to celebrate Naturday making him very popular in The Basement East. I want to see Moxxi vs. Radrick in singles competition. Peyton was flying all over the damn place. Cornell and Slade are two guys I would not suggest fucking with. They will smash you with ease. Logan Stunt leaves Nashville with a victory but all of these guys should be proud of this match.
Nick Iggy vs. James Bandy: Beauty and the Beast in a sense. Bandy came into his SUP debut ready to turn heads and that’s exactly what he did. I’m pretty sure at one point he hit a standing blockbuster. Like how the hell does one even do that? Iggy is beloved at SUP for obvious reasons but it felt like the crowd was really into what Bandy was bringing. It was great to have Nick back at SUP especially with The Circus back open and flourishing. Iggy gets a hard fought win keeping his SUP singles winning streak alive. Tough loss for Bandy but I have no doubt he’s going to have a sensational 2019.
Bonestorm Championship- Brett Ison (c) vs. O’Shay Edwards: Well, goddamn. This was madness. We expected a fight and we got that, but what we didn’t expect was that each man would bring in a different gameplan than usual.
O’Shay brought out a little more of his submission game while Brett came prepared to fly. Seriously, The Pitbull hit a fucking pitch perfect rana on O’Shay.
"Didn't know you could do that!"

There are alot of things I can do but I don't have to use all my tools all the time. pic.twitter.com/UQEPjK8DGi
That’s right. There’s a lucha Pitbull in that big body and y’all done fucked up.
After throwing a beating on one another, we had not one, not two, but three refs go down leading to Brett telling Jesse to make the count after dropping O’Shay with a vicious Rolling Iron Elbow. After hesitating, Jesse rolls in to count only for O’Shay to kick out at two. Brett wasn’t happy. He delivered a Street Justice to Jesse that shook me to my core. It was like Brett was piledriving his entire body.
O’Shay recovered and regained control, even making Brett tap, but there was literally no one conscious in the building that could make it official. Out of nowhere, Sadkampf appeared and started the beatdown on O’Shay. Didn’t take long for Cabana Man Dan and Brickster to hit the ring leading us to unadulterated mayhem. After the locker room cleared to separate everyone, The Basement East erupted with “O’Shay” chants. This six man tag at Family Reunion on April 4th is going to be fucking bonkers.
No bullshit – I enjoyed every single match on the card. Everyone brought it and The Basement East crowd was invested all day long. It always feels like a mini family reunion which is something that can’t be faked. Big ups to the Southern Underground Pro crew for another home run.
SUP will be back at The Basement East on April 21.
