AIW: Slumber Party Massacre Recap

After collecting ourselves from the insanity that was ‘Family Reunion’ earlier in the day, it was time for some A-I-Dub. While getting ready to head to the venue, Brett Ison decided he wanted to go – so he took Stoney’s ticket. There was no argument from Stones, obviously, so Brett and I went on to White Eagle Hall for some fuckery!

Mexican Death Match: La Familia de Tijuana (Damian 666 & Bestia 666) vs. The Young Studs (Bobby Beverly & Eric Ryan)- When it was announced that we would be getting started with a Mexican death match, the crowd went wild. They went even wilder when The Young Studs hit the ring to “Love in an Elevator.” Forks were busted out right away by Damian and Bestia which led to Eric bleeding all over the damn place. The four bang on each other until Eric Ryan takes a DVD through a fork door – as in a door covered in forks. Ok stuff here though the language barrier may have given the guys a couple of hurdles.

Submit or Surrender: Dominic Garrini vs. Joshua Bishop- This was and forever will be my jam. An all-out war that had some of the dopest/grossest spots of the weekend.

I’m not sure I’ll ever get the image of Dom getting skewered in the ear out of my head. Bishop literally took ALL the skewers to the dome as well. If that wasn’t enough the two fought to the stage where Bishop literally chucked Dom off like he was nothing.

Holy shit there was so much going on I almost forgot to mention the railroad spike fight. Each man stabbing the other in the head with a spike over and over. After all this I leaned over and asked Brett “What in the hell are they gonna have to do to win?”

The answer: Bishop handcuffed Dom in the corner then doused him in lighter fluid. His boy Maserati Wes had a lighter handy and just before Bishop was gonna set him ablaze, Garrini surrendered. Other than the SUP 6-Man Tag, this was my favorite match of the weekend. Big time shout out to both men.

AIW Tag Team Championship: Cheech & Colin Delaney (c) vs. Derek Direction & Eddy Only vs. Nasty Russ & T-Money vs. Philly Collins & Marino Tenaglia- I love love love The Production and The Jollyville Fuck Its, so this was destined for my enjoyment. It should be no surprise that this match had A LOT going on. Some good, some not-so-good, but the highlight was The Jollyville Fuck Its doing the damn thing. I can’t tell you how loud that crowd got for T-Money when he started fucking shit up. He and Russ are the goddamn truth. Cheech and Colin retain in a wild one.

Eddie Kingston vs. Shinjiro Otani- This was sooooo cool to take in live. Not only for the two legends in the ring but to be sitting next to Brett while he watched Eddie go to work.

After a slow start, this turns into a fight with boot scrapes from Otani and the nasty style of offense that Eddie brings. One such sequence had me sold that The Mad King may sneak out a win, but an Otani kick-out ended that. More back and forth before Otani lands a crushing lariat for the win. Awesome, awesome stuff.

Scott Steiner vs. Swoggle- Swoggle’s entrance was over as shit but is it really that surprising that a bunch of hardcore kids jumped at the chance to belt out New Found Glory?

After things settled a bit, the sirens hit and Big Poppa Pump was in the house. After having the audio crew play ‘Short People,’ Steiner announced that he had brought his own little person to fight Swoggle…mother fucking Cabana Man Dan!!!! CMD and Swoggle went at it for a minute before Swoggle locked in the Steiner Recliner which popped EVERYONE.

Finally, Scott decided it was time to get involved as he threw belly to belly suplexes all around. A little scrap for the two in the crowd before Steiner slaps on The Steiner Recliner forcing Swoggle to submit. I mean this in the best possible way…the match was hilarious.

Colt Cabana and Space Monkey vs. Ethan Page and MJF– Page, Colt and Space Monkey are all out before MJF, who has been grounded by his father aka Colt Cabana.

Page coaxes Colt to un-ground him and Colt agrees, but only if MJF enters to Colt’s music. This cracked everyone up especially when MJF finally hit the curtain with his trademark “This Sucks” face.

A lot of fun stuff throughout including spankings from Daddy Colt and MJF working the shit out of Space Monkey’s tail. Colt and Space Monkey get the win after Cabana beats his son. Nice bit of fun.

Nick Gage vs. Mance Warner- Definitely felt like some real emotions in this one with all the backstory/behind the scenes stuff. Gage is the fucking king and is absolutely beloved. Mance brought the fight, but Gage was just not having any of it. Duke was with Mance and my God did he take a chair shot from Gage. Like one of the nastiest smacks to the head I’ve heard in a hot minute. Gage was the star of the weekend and this match was no different. Gage hits a couple of gnarly piledrivers to secure the win.

AIW Absolute Championship: PB Smooth (c) vs. Tom Lawlor vs. Matthew Justice vs. Tim Donst- Matthew Justice was throwing himself around like this was his last match. The guy is a psycho and I’m here for it.

All four guys have moments, but for me Justice and Lawlor really took the cake. I believe Lawlor has yet to take a loss in AIW and that streak continued here as he takes home the title after choking PB out.

This was an all out blast of a show, y’all. We had fun shit, violent shit, and all around good shit. Without a doubt one of the best shows of the weekend highlighted by the Reign in Blood fest that Garrini/Bishop gave us. If you missed it I highly recommend checking out the replay on Fite.
