Welcome to the WrestleMania Season Roundup! Over the next four weeks, I’m going to take a look around the landscape of the WWE and – you guessed it – round up all the news and updates as to how the show is shaping up. LFG.
WRESTLEMANIA SEASON ROUNDUP: APRIL 4, 2019
- The go-home angle on Raw was hot – I don’t care what anyone says. We’re talkin’ about wrestlers destroying cop cars, throwing kicks, breaking windows. Was that shit necessary? Hell no. But, it was LIT.
- Likewise, Batista may have cut the promo of the year on Raw with just four words, “Hunter, kiss my ass.”
- Other than that, this week was a whole lotta NOPE. Seth Rollins kicked Brock Lesnar in the balls on Raw and stood tall. Finn Balor revealed that The Demon would be at WrestleMania in probably the worst way possible. And, we got a weird main event in Baron Corbin and Rey Mysterio. I’m just ready for the show.
- It’s rumored that the WWE still has ‘Mania plans for John Cena and The Undertaker but those are being held close to the vest. I still think one ends up interrupting Elias.
- Rey Mysterio was injured during his match with Corbin on Raw – it seems legit, which may mean Samoa Joe gets a new opponent on Sunday. Cena, anyone?
- Only one more match was made official on this week’s go-home shows, and that was the Fatal 4-Way tag match on SmackDown. Still feels like they’re going to throw that Revival vs. Hawkins & Ryder match on the preshow too, but that’s about it.
- Kofi had a nice little promo on SmackDown about how long it’s taken him just to get a singles match for the WWE Championship. #KofiMania is still the best part of this WrestleMania.
- Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake is rounding out this year’s Hall of Fame class.
- This is it, folks. It’s been a pleasure. Happy WrestleMania Week! Be sure to follow myself and Mose on the Twitter gimmick as we’re LIVE from Jersey City covering all of the activities of the week.
