The Nashville restaurant scene has become something else, y’all. I mean, it’s felt like things have been changing at a rapid and frequent pace for the last several years, but now it’s at a point where we’re getting monthly updates about places opening and closing. Good ones, too (PS. R.I.P. Edgefield (PSS. fuck you, Edgefield was AWESOME)).
Anyway, I’m scrolling through the news in Nashville and find this post from The Tennessean. Five new restaurants opening and one closing in the Music City during June. So, this is a thing now? This is something that’s happening so frequently that we have to keep people informed through the newspaper?
This is almost like a damn stock report – what’s next? A Robinhood-like app providing updates on the stock of Nashville restaurants?
Y’all, I can remember when fuckin’ McDonald’s came to Mount Juliet and we about damn threw a parade!
Whew – maybe I should retract my claim that I should be the Editor of Eater Nashville. I don’t know how they can possibly keep up with all of this constant turnover on the Nashville restaurant scene. Y’all are going to work Delia Jo death – let the woman take a vacation. Damn.
I know it sounds like I’m whining about this, but it really is welcome news. More hot chicken? You bet your ass I’ll eventually make my way down to Music City Chicken Co. Well, I mean….that’s assuming it’s still open when that day comes. Crab Fever sounds awful, but looks delicious. And, how about that? We have a damn good lookin’ tiki bar in town now, too! Eager to check out Chopped. This is all exciting news (unless you’re a fan of Flyte World, in which case, oops – sorry, my bad), it’s just kind of mind-boggling and hard to process.
I think maybe I’ll just stick to reviewing completely ordinary bar food.
Anyway, tune back in in a month and we’ll do this whole thing over again.
