“The General” John Mosley said it best on a recent episode of Checks and Championships when he said, “O’Shay Edwards is comin’ to SCI to make people look dumb.”
That’s exactly what he did last weekend at the 2019 Scenic City Invitational (and Crux and SUP, for that matter) – remind us all of just what the hell Georgia wrestling was sleeping on all that time. Thankfully, The Big Bad Kaiju was gracious enough to give us some of his time on the road from the Best Western Heritage Inn in Chattanooga.
We caught him right in the middle of a four-day run that included knockdown drag-out wars with Uncle Byff at Crux, J.D. Drake on Night 1 of SCI, Matt Tremont on Night 2 of SCI, an appearance in the Finals of SCI against Warhorse Jake Parnell, A.C. Mack, and (technically) the eventual winner, Daniel Makabe, -AND- if that wasn’t enough, a Fatal 4-way against Drake, Edwards, and Brett Ison.
Edwards talk to us about his matches with Byff and Drake, and we look ahead to his match with Tremont. Then, we talk about his highly-anticipated return to SUP, and what the day-to-day is like for him now that he’s up in Baltimore.

Personally, I gotta give a YUGE thank you to O’Shay for carryin’ my ass through this podcast. It was recorded in the middle of the night. My brain was fried. Everyone was eager to hit SCI Prom and down some booze. But, we turned the mic on and just said, “go.” O’Shay, being the silver tongue that he is, gave us 30 excellent minutes that should have you ready to run through a brick wall if you have a pulse in your body at all. The man has that gift.
I’m happy to have gotten the chance to know this guy a little bit over the course of the last year or so, and wish him nothing but the best. I mean it when I say the sky’s the limit. You once told me something along the lines of “I don’t forget the people who were there for me along the way,” and brother – that works both ways. Thank you.
