Cody and David Morton, collectively known as The Smokin’ Budz, are modern day outlaws. They’re one of the most exciting young tag teams on the current independent wrestling scene in Tennessee. “The General” John Mosley caught up with them after a Resolute Wrestling show a little over a month ago for an interview. SoBros Nation absolutely ate those guys up – they loved it! So, when we realized we’d all be in Chattanooga for the Scenic City Invitational weekend festivities, we decided to roll that shit back for Part II of Checks and Championships featuring The Smokin’ Budz.
This time, Mose chats with Cody and David about wrestling during SCI weekend – taking on IFHY at Crux Wrestling’s Hey Jealousy. It was the event that kicked off the festivities that weekend, and Johnathan Wolf tried to put David through a fucking wall. Those guys stole the show in one of the most fun matches of the weekend.
Then, we get into an idea that piques all of our interest: why isn’t there an SCI-style tournament for tag teams out there? All of this and plenty more…including talking about the 2011 film Paul.
