Nashville Reviews: Full Moon Cineplex

I want to talk about my absolute favorite place in the Nashville area. Full Moon Cineplex is a theater in Hermitage, Tennessee. It sits behind the Japanese restaurant, Sakura, off of Lebanon Pike so you might miss it from the road if you aren’t looking. Included in the plaza is Lone Wolf Tattoo and Nashville’s most original haunt, Slaughterhouse. But I’m here to talk about the theater.

When you walk into the building, you see that the walls are lined with old and new horror memorabilia. Some of the items are even signed to the owners, Stacy and Ben. The one that makes my little creepy heart giddy is the signed photo of Linda Blair as Reagan from The Exorcist. It hangs on the wall next to one of the dining tables, looming over you as you sip on your pre-movie beer.

That’s right! They serve beer. My go-to choice every time is the Catawba Brewing Company’s White Zombie. It’s crisp, a tad spicy, and fitting for the environment. Other refreshments include popcorn, candy, and one of the best oven pizzas I’ve ever had.

If you are looking for a more substantial meal before your movie, Full Moon has you covered there as well. On Fridays and Saturdays, the theater offers “dinner and movie” ticket options that can be purchased online. They set out a buffet in the theater room for you as you settle in to catch your favorite slasher on the big screen.

Personally, I have seen a number of movies at the theater that range from Raising Arizona to most recently, Poltergeist. Seeing Poltergeist in a theater is something I never thought I would get to experience. Our friends at Music City Horror have also hosted a few events there and it’s always a blast.

The best thing about the Full Moon Cineplex though is the management. Stacy and Ben are always kind and accommodating to their patrons. They’ve created a unique place, but still make it feel homey and welcoming for the local lovers of the macabre.

I am always checking the website to find out what Full Moon is playing for the upcoming weekend. There is nothing better than sitting down to Fulci’s Zombie with a bag of popcorn after a grueling day at work.

If you are looking for something to do for date night, or an outing with friends, even if you want to just catch a movie on your own, give the Full Moon Cineplex a shot!
