Weighing in on the Most Dangerous Parts of Nashville

Alright, y’all – big serious news to get to this Monday, even though it is technically almost a week old at this point. Fuck it – that’s how we roll around here at SoBros Network. Anyway, Metro Police released their statistics for the most dangerous parts of Nashville based on overall crime.

Courtesy of Fox17:

According to Metro Police, here are the most dangerous spots right now:

*Opry Mills
*3rd and Broadway
*East Thompson Lane
*Murfreesboro Pike

Opry Mills – ya hate to see it – y’all wanted to tear down our beloved Opryland, a bona fide institution of Nashville’s history and culture…not unlike the Smithsonian or the Louvre. And, y’all wanted to build a damn mall there. Here we are, some 18 years since Opry Mills opened, and it’s one of the most dangerous spots in Nashville. SMDH. You had to know that was eventually going to happen, right? Once we hit the mid-2000s and you saw what started happening to Hickory Hollow and Rivergate, there had to be a collective groan, like “ah, fuck.” Only a matter of time before that sort of dilapidation surged over to Opry Mills. Now – here we are!

I gotta say, though, there is a certain uneasiness that comes with leaving Opry Mills after the mall’s closed. It could be the Panda Express, but it could also be the crime. I don’t need a Metro Police report to tell me that.

They also mention the Pedestrian Bridge in this article, and I find that pretty fascinating. Here’s this thing that’s supposed to be safe – I’d damn near call it “an attraction” (at least, I always try to take visiting friends up there to get that view of the city (assuming we aren’t too hungover to walk that much)) – and yet, we got soldiers being assaulted up there. Dude in that Fox17 article says, “you can definitely tell you’re being watched.”

Whatever happened to good clean fun?

3rd and Broadway comes as a surprise to me. It’s right there in the middle of all the Broadway fanfare. I mean, I’ve always wondered WTF that Kinko’s is doing there. Maybe it’s a front for some highly illegal activity that’s going on and that’s why the crime rate is so jacked up there. Otherwise, what makes 3rd & Broadway different from any other intersection down there?

But, alas – this is a growing city. Nashville wants to be a tourism and entertainment mecca, then this is the sort of shit you’re going to have to deal with.

Last I checked, though, Hermitage was still apart of the Metro Nashville footprint. I live out here, people. You can’t tell me it ain’t dangerous. I go to bed listening to police sirens every single night. I sleep clutching a broadsword and keep a slingshot under my pillow just in case.

I would like Metro Police to revisit this study. I’m not gonna call bullshit on the police and all, but they must not think of Hermitage as “Nashville.”

That’s all I’m saying.
