Paradigm Pro Wrestling’s Sittin’ Sidewayz went down on Friday, September 27th, LIVE from Jeffersonville, Indiana – check out all the highlights from that good good PPW action below.
PPW: Sittin Sidewayz Recap
Bruce Grey vs Flash Thompson vs Blake 182 vs Timothy Savage vs Zay Washington vs Robbie Keto: I’m always game for a fun ass scramble and that’s exactly what this was. Everyone got some time to shine with some real wicked offense layered throughout. Bruce Grey had me cracking up constantly. Dude was hilarious, fam. The other real standout of the match was the eventual winner Blake 182. He was all over the place from the jump and Dammit he earned that win.
Freddie Hudson vs Lexus Montez: This ended up being a real grapple fest at times, but a really badass grapple fest. The two chained offense with reversals galore. No lie, I got lost in this one and had an absolute blast. Freddie gets the win, but big time shout out to both guys for putting on one of my favorite matches of the card.
Awesome Odyssey (Jack Andrews and Chris Copeland) vs The Spirit of Detroit (Cassidy and Jon’tae Keith)- A minor yeetfest here. The four did some crazy cool bullshit capped off with a gnarly double knee/slam contraption by the Detroit bois. This one is worth checking out just for the tag team offense pulled off by both teams. Odyssey gets another impressive win under the PPW banner, but both teams made new fans this night. Someone give me Spirit of Detroit vs The Jollyville Fuck Its please.
PPW Championship: AJ Gray (c) vs. Ace Austin- Not gonna lie, I was really fired up for AJ/Myron, but with some changes to the card, we were surprised with this heater. AJ is absolutely crushing it right now. He’s more confident than ever and rightfully so as the guy does nothing but put on kickass, hard-hitting matches, no matter the style of opponent. Austin is known far more for his high flying moves, but there’s just no way you’re getting in there with AJ and not getting dragged into a fight. Ace left it all in the ring, but it wasn’t enough to topple the champ. AJ keeps the win streak alive.
Bradley Prescott IV vs James Bandy vs Hoodfoot vs Cole Radrick- It was a bummer to not have Manders in the house, but having Hoodfoot as a replacement will always be a good move in my book. This was another solid performance by Bandy at Paradigm which should keep his stock super high there. Same for Hoodfoot who took advantage of the opportunity with some tuff offense. With all the momentum behind Cole and BPIV right now, I wasn’t gonna be shocked to see either one of those guys snag this win which Cole ended up doing. Radrick is the new number 1 contender to AJ’s PPW championship.
Calvin Tankman vs Lee Moriarty- Big, big fan of both of these dudes, so you won’t be shocked to hear I loved this shit. First time seeing Moriarty live and he lived up to some pretty high expectations. This was more fight club shit with both guys letting their hands do a lot of the talking. Moriarty did his homework and kept reversing out of Tankmans ‘put you to sleep’ offense. That is, until Calvin full on dropped Lee on his dome to pick up the win. Another kickass match on this card.
The Death Dealers (Brett Ison and ‘Slick’ Willy Brewer) vs Matthew Justice and Ron Mathis- With The Bev injured, Matthew Justice was full on ready to fight the Death Dealers by his self. Management wouldn’t let that happen for obvious reasons, so they partnered him up with Mathis who will tell you right away that trash is better. Once the Dealers knew what was up, it took about .00002 seconds for them to take the fight to Justice/Mathis. The four fought all around the ring, with Mathis slamming both Dealers face first on the mat multiple times. Shit looked painful.
From there, it was just four grown men dishing out punishment to one another. It comes down to Mathis hitting a huge trash lariat on Willy just as Justice is flying over the top only to miss Ison on the outside. Brett slides in and feeds Mathis with a thud of an elbow followed by Street Justice for the 1-2-3. Badass stuff from all four competitors. It’ll be interesting to see what’s next for Ison under the PPW banner.
Myron Reed vs Corey Storm- It was announced that this would be the last appearance for Corey at PPW. Making this match that much more important and the fans were all aboard. I mean, this would have been a banger without the extra sentiment, but with the stakes as high as they were, the crowd was living and dying with each pin attempt. It appeared that Myron had won, but the ref missed Corey getting his leg on the rope mid-count. Crowd was in a frenzy until it was announced that, yes, the match would be restarted. Place went absolutely crazy. Corey fights back and ends up getting the win in one for the ages at Paradigm. Of note, this received the Haley MOTN seal of approval. Shout out to both guys for putting on a damn show from bell to bell to bell.
