The insane, crazy, dope, wrestling weekend got started for us with a trip down to ACTION wrestling on Friday night. We’ve been wanting to make the hike the last couple of shows, but due to prior commitments, it just wasn’t possible. Thankfully, things worked out and we got a few matches that really wow’ed me…including a surprise that left the ACTION arena stunned. LFG.

Alan Angels vs. Zachary Cooper: This crushed sooooo hard. I’m a noted Cooper guy mainly because every match he puts on has me saying ‘oh my gawd’ at least once. This match had two of those with Cooper kicking Angels out of mid-air as well as Angels dropping Cooper on his melon on the stage with a sick piledriver. Angels showed off next level toughness en route to an impressive win. Next level opener here, friends.

Arik Royal vs. Kung Fu Janela: I go back years with Kung Fu. I mean back to the WOMBAT days, so it was good to see him in action. That said, this was a big boy challenge with Arik Royal looking to throw a beating. Seeing Royal live for the first time was kickass. He brings A LOT to a show whether it’s in ring or on the mic. He brought it all this night and left with the win over ole Kung Fu.

The Gym Nasty Boys (Timmy Lou Retton & White Mike) vs. Breux Keller & Isaiah Frazier: The Gym Nastys are an absolute blast. I say it every time I see them, but it’s the got dang truth. That Yam Opener that Mike hits is a work of art as Isaiah found out in this match. When it looked like the GNB were gonna take the dub, Keller and Frazier got a little help from Mister Gator who had joined them at ringside. After a hectic last couple of minutes, the fellas from Prime Time Pro wrestling stole the win. It’s gonna be very interesting seeing how the relationship between ACTION and Prime Time goes throughout 2020, especially after some of the tricks used in this match against the Nastys.

Brett Ison vs. JJ Garrett: This was an execution. JJ tried as best as he could but this was a Brett Ison locked in on his target. A vicious elbow along with a direct knee to the cranium put JJ to sleep. In less than 90 seconds, The Pitbull let the ACTION faithful know a new contender had arrived.

Tony Deppen vs. The 1 Called Manders: Legit MOTN energy in this one. The two have great chemistry leading to so many ‘WOW’ moments throughout the match. Back and forth we went with Deppen attacking the knee/leg of Manders attempting to take away the power of the Cornbelt Cowboy. Excellent plan, but the sheer will of Manders was just too much for Deppen. Thanks to a disgustingly powerful power slam, Manders gets the big time win. I can’t stress enough how badass this match was. Search this one out as soon as this show hits IWTV.

Matt Sells vs. Chance Rizer: Matt Sells came into this match with a goose egg in the win column on the year at ACTION. To say this crowd was behind him is a serious understatement. Sells even looked confident for a guy that hasn’t felt the sweet satisfaction of victory in such a long time. The two battled, with each taking the big momentum swing from the other before it looked like Sells was in position to end the streak. Out of nowhere comes Arik Royal! He toyed with Sells for a second then smashed Chance, forcing the ref to ring the bell. Sells loses by disqualification leaving the ACTION faithful immensely pissed off. The two went back and forth on the mic for a minute before we found out the two will face off in February with Matt Sells putting his b-e-a-utiful locks on the line against Royal’s cash money.

Dani Jordyn vs. Savannah Evans: To quote our friend BP4, this was “tuff.” Evans looks like an absolute killer (spoiler alert) because she is. She beat the heck out of Dani for a hot minute, which showed off the absolute tuffness that Dani brings. The two really went to war before Dani was able to snatch the win out of the absolute blue. Huge win for Jordyn heading into 2020 but I feel like both of these ladies are gonna make some big time moves next year.

Benjamin Carter vs. O’Shay Edwards vs. Jaden Newman vs. Shawn Dean: Another MOTN contender with all four badasses bringing their A++ game. What made this such a breathtaking match (aside from it just being totally dope) was that you really felt like any of the four could win it. In the end, Dean snatches the win but all four guys should feel proud of this bell to bell. Also, O’Shay is an absolute star and I’m ready to see him on television weekly along with making action films. Go out of your way to see this match!

ACTION Championship: AC Mack (c) vs. Cain Justice: AC Mack is loved at the ACTION arena. It was so surreal hearing the man that left The Basement East stunned and silent entering to some serious cheers. The win would secure a full calendar year as Action champion for Mack which is an incredible achievement. I just didn’t see any way that Mack was losing this match…until Cain hit him with a stiff dick kick.

For a split second, you could feel the crowd take a deep breath before a big exhale when Mack kicked out. Not long after, AC was able to catch Cain’s arms and hit a slick Mack 10 for the win.

As he’s about to start celebrating, Brett Ison hits the ring, and then AC with three skull crushing knees. After holding on to both the ACTION and Bonestorm titles for a second, Brett set them on the semi-conscious Mack. It’s official. At ACTION wrestling, in 2020, it’s kill or be killed.

I want to thank everyone at ACTION for having us for the show. If you missed the news, we’re gonna be sponsoring ACTION next year, beginning with the January 11th show aptly named ‘Streets of Rage.’ Already announced matches included WARHORSE defending the IWTV title against Nick Iggy as well as Brett Ison vs. Gary Jay!
