Ya just hate to see it, folks. It feels like we blinked and Labor Day turned into Christmastime. Another fine season of SEC football is in the books, and we find ourselves on the doorstep of the 2019 SEC Championship. It’s the undefeated, 12-0 LSU Tigers and the 11-1 Georgia Bulldogs with huge playoff implications. The Tigers are likely in regardless of the outcome of this game, but the Bulldogs can only get in with a win. If they notch their second loss of the season, they’re going to be out, and Utah/Oklahoma/Baylor will be in.

The Tigers are currently a seven-point favorite, and the over/under is set around 55.5. The last time these two teams met in the SEC Championship, the Tigers rocked the Bulldogs 42-10 in 2011. Something tells me this year’s contest isn’t going to go that way. But, if you’re like me and ready to kick back, enjoy a few, and toast to the passing of another football season, then I have just the aid to get you feelin’ good. LFG.

2019 SEC Championship Drinking Game

Take a drink if/when…

  • Somebody scores a touchdown. Hell, let’s just get drunk – it’s the last game of the season.
  • Anyone mentions LSU’s conversion to “the Spread.”
  • Anyone mentions the D’Andre Swift injury.
  • Gary Danielson unsuccessfully calls out the coverage. For example, “Oh, Georgia has [so-and-so] one on one right here!” And then, Georgia hands the ball off.
  • “Joe Burrow” and “Heisman” are spoken in the same sentence.
  • Georgia scores 35.
  • LSU scores 20.
  • They show the Jalen Hurts comeback to beat Georgia a year ago.
  • Coach O speaks. Then, you must do your best Coach O impression amongst your friends.
  • They actually show highlights from that 2011 SEC Championship.
  • Someone on the broadcast actually uses the term “Joe Bros.”
  • Jake Fromm surpasses 200 passing yards.
  • Joe Burrow surpasses 300 passing yards.
  • Anyone mentions the “NFL talent” on the field for this game.
  • Any Georgia receiver surpasses 100 receiving yards.
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire surpasses 100 rushing yards.

Take a shot if/when…

  • Either team scores 50 points.
  • Jake Fromm throws an interception.
  • Someone mentions the name Billy Cannon, LSU’s LAST Heisman winner (1959).
  • Anyone mentions that this is the 2nd most-common SEC Championship matchup behind Alabama-Florida.
  • They hit the over.

It’s been real, SEC fans. Another fun season is in the books. Wild how time flies. As usual, stay safe and drink responsibly out there. Remember, if you drink don’t drive do the watermelon crawl.
