I hate to admit that I’m a big time Andy Dalton apologist. I always thought the guy could be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Some of those Cincinnati Bengals teams were really good – I called those teams contenders back in the day. Ultimately, things are fizzling out for Dalton in Cincy. The Bengals are hot garbage this season, and it’s now becoming a comedy of errors.
Only Andy Dalton can pull this play off.pic.twitter.com/LgA6dpAUc5

Wow.
Is it cliche of me to ask for the Benny Hill music synced up with this clip? Yeah. It is. I won’t do it. Just know I was close to asking for it.
If you could sum up the rise and fall of Andy Dalton with the Bengals in a single play, this might be it. You tell people you like the way Andy Dalton plays the game and they look at you like, “have you actually watched him play?” This is why. That’s going to hit the box score as, like, 15 passing yards or whatever, but you have no real idea how he amassed those 15 yards unless you see it.
By the way, how many yards did that ball travel? Whoever the stat guy was at this game should’ve tallied that up as a 50-yard bomb. It looks like that’s about how far that ball traveled from the time it left Dalton’s hand until the time it was caught. 25 yards up…25 yards down. Two whole fantasy points.
The Bengals are 1-13 after losing to the Patriots. They face off against the Dolphins in Miami this weekend in a game that could have a huge factor in who gets the first overall pick in next spring’s NFL Draft.
