Welcome to NFL DFS advice for the Titans at Raiders matchup during Week 14 of the 2019 season. Every week, Joshua Huffman will preview some of the main participants from the Tennessee Titans games. Titans at Raiders: Injury Report
- Titans RB Henry has been dealing with a hamstring injury. It hasn’t kept him out of the past two games. As of Thursday, Henry was a limited participant. Expect him to play.
- Titans CBs Adoree’ Jackson and LeShaun Sims both missed Wednesday and Thursday practice. Already down CB Malcolm Butler, this could create a problem when defending Raiders WR Williams. The Titans claimed recently waived CB Tramaine Brock.
- Raiders RB Jacobs has been playing with a fractured right shoulder. He missed Wednesday and Thursday practice. If he’s inactive, Oakland becomes forced into more of a passing attack.
Titans at Raiders: Lines (As of Dec. 5)
- Titans (-2.5)
- Over/Under 47.5 to 48
Titans at Raiders: NFL DFS Advice
- Expect this game to play AROUND to OVER 47.5 to 48. Since Week 2, the Raiders have only once surrendered less than 20 points. That was against a Cincinnati Bengals team that started the season 0-11. Oakland has been very Jekyll and Hyde. When they win, it’s usually with offense. While Tennessee’s success mostly rests on their defense, a depleted defensive backfield could leave them vulnerable.
- Oakland has trended downward. In the last two weeks (both losses), Oakland has been outscored 74-12. Although the Titans were shutout 16-0 during their last West Coast trip (Week 6 at Denver Broncos), their starting quarterback was Marcus Mariota. With Tannehill, The Titans have won five of their last six games. This game has major Wild Card implications. A loss would almost eliminate Oakland from postseason contention. The Titans are trying to keep up with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans in hope for the AFC South crown or at least a wildcard spot.
- At $8200, Titans RB Henry is the third highest priced RB on the slate. His last four games have seen scores of 24.9-36.1-32.5-27.6. His lackluster PPR potential limits his upside. He’s a touchdown-dependent player. That should continue. While Henry doesn’t possess great per-dollar upside, he’s a fine choice for anyone trying to fill out their roster after finding other affordable high-dollar upside candidates. Play him.
- Titans TE Smith is a dart throw because of how targets are spread around to multiple wide receivers and tight ends. At $3100, Smith is still considered the starter. Smith had a Week 7-8 stretch where he combined for nine catches for 142 yards and a touchdown. Tight ends have gashed Oakland’s defense. Smith could have a decent game with a red zone touchdown. Just remember that his floor remains a zero. He’s the best candidate to breakout as a primary contributor for recently IR’ed TE Delanie Walker.
- Oakland has a couple high usage players who could pose difficulties for Tennessee’s defense. My favorite player from them is TE Waller. Waller is the type of athletic tight end who could give Tennessee some difficulties. He comes off a game with 100 receiving yards. He’s worth considering at $5800 although Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle ($4600) and Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald ($4300) face defenses who are beyond atrocious when defending opposing TEs.
- Raiders RB Jacobs always has some intrigue because of his usage. Similar to Henry, Jacobs doesn’t provide much as a receiver. Those duties go to RB Richard. So if the Raiders fall behind like they have the last two weeks, then Richard becomes more valuable. RBs who’ve given Tennessee problems include Los Angeles Chargers RB Austin Ekeler, Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffery and Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette when he was used as a receiver during garbage time. Jacobs isn’t the type of RB who’d have a huge game against them. It’s just that his usage and probability of scoring touchdowns could elevate his score.
- Keep riding the hot hand with RB Henry. The Raiders could have some success with TE Waller or WR Williams. Try a Carr-Williams-Waller stack to attack a potentially depleted Tennessee CB group, especially if Jacobs doesn’t play.
