Well, here we folks. The 2020 National Championship Drinking Game – and another fun season of college football in the books. We say it every year, but it sure is bittersweet, isn’t it? It is literally the most meaningful game of the entire season. The stakes could not be any higher, but by the same token, it also means it’s our final live college football viewing experience of the season. We’re poised for another lengthy offseason after tonight, but it does provide me with an opportunity to look back at the season.

For the LSU Tigers, it was one for the ages. They lit up scoreboard after scoreboard en route to the SEC Championship. Coach O’s squad beat the likes of Georgia, Alabama, and Auburn en route to a perfect regular season. Then, they curb stomped Oklahoma in the playoff semi-final. It’s hard not to look at this team as a team of destiny. But, the team taking the field against them knows all about being unstoppable.

Even though 2019 started off a bit tumultuously for the Clemson Tigers, they handled their business. After steamrolling through the ACC and completely victimizing Virginia in the ACC Championship, the Tigers stunned an Ohio State team that many thought was the best in the country. It’s a lot like 2018, when the Tigers turned it up when it mattered most and rocked Alabama to claim the 2018 National Championship.

So, the stage is set for high drama on Monday night. LSU is currently a 5.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at a whopping 69.5. And, you know your boy had to return for another classic SoBros Network drinking game. LFG.

2020 National Championship Drinking Game

Take a drink if/when…

*Someone talks about LSU playing “a virtual home game” in New Orleans. Drink again if they mention that the last time LSU won a National Championship it was in New Orleans (in 2007).

*Someone mentions that Clemson is going for back-to-back National Championships.

*You hear “30 consecutive wins.”

*You hear “three championships in four seasons.”

*Someone mentions Clemson’s “slow start” to the 2019 season.

*Joe Burrow and the NFL are mentioned in the same sentence.

*Joe Burrow and the Heisman Trophy are mentioned in the same sentence.

*Trevor Lawrence throws a touchdown.

*Clyde Edwards-Helaire scores a touchdown.

*Travis Etienne amasses 10 yards (rushing -OR- receiving).

*Justin Jefferson catches the ball.

*Anyone mentions how much money Dave Aranda and Brent Venables make. Double drink if they specifically say they’re the two highest paid defensive coordinators in college football.

*Any player registers a sack or an interception.

*Someone mentions Joe Brady’s impact on the LSU offense. Did you know Joe Brady came from the New Orleans Saints?

*They show a graphic displaying the three previous meetings between these two teams.

Take a shot if/when…

*Joe Burrow throws six touchdowns.

*Trevor Lawrence leads Clemson in rushing at any point in the game.

*They show highlights of the 44-16 beatdown in last year’s National Championship game. Double shots if you’re a Tide fan. That shit hurt.

*Coach O says something unintelligible. Everyone at your watch party must then do their best Coach O impression.

*The game ends. That’s right, folks. It’s a bittersweet day. We won’t witness another college football game until late August/early September. No matter who your team is, who you were rooting for in this game, or what – raise a glass, make a toast to this wonderful sport we love, and drink to another fun season in the books.

As usual, stay safe and responsible out there. If you drink, don’t drive. Do the watermelon crawl.
