Nashville Reviews: Night Train Pizza

Brittany and Jesse went out to Night Train Pizza to try out the 'Bad Mutha Clucka,' a hot chicken pizza, created for Nashville Hot Chicken Week 2020.

After the disaster at Nashville Underground, I was CRAVING some hot chicken realness. So, we headed to Night Train Pizza to try the $5 pizza special.

It was advertised as “Bianca Sauce, Blue, Mozz., and Provolone Cheese Blend, NASHTY Hot Chicken, Kool-Aid Pickles finished with Buttermilk Ranch and Chives” and this dish did not disappoint. It was the creamiest and most flavorful pizza I believe I’ve ever had, and those two things balanced out the hot chicken.

The chicken was actually grilled, so that was also a nice surprise. The kool aid pickles were cut up slices that were fruit punch flavored, and were the perfect sweet treat among the heat. For $5, we each got two large slices so we left nice and full.

The only negative thing I could say would be that the hot factor could’ve been bumped up a little, but that was seriously an afterthought. I really hope they bring this pizza back at some point, because I would make a special trip just for it.

Jesse’s Review

Brittany and I went to Night Train Pizza for hot chicken week this past weekend. After the horrendous experience at Nashville Underground, I was very excited for this.

We had been to Night Train once before and it was great! So, i guess I had a little more faith in them to deliver. Their special was the “back motha clucka” hot chicken pizza. Brittany and I split one which gave us two slices a piece.

Look, I have a bad memory – couldn’t tell you all of the ingredients again if my life depended on it, but I know on Sunday, the day after we were there we both wanted that pizza again. Everything blended together so perfectly. I could taste the effort they put into their product. And I believe the pizza was only $5. Cant beat that.

Side note- we both got a pound of wings. Sounds like a lot, but it was about 7-8 wings, I’d say. I got garlic parmesan and she got honey BBQ. Both were just how I like my wings- absolutely smothered in sauce with juicy chicken to boot.

Go out of your way to stop into Night Train Pizza!
