It’s a tough time of year for a lot of people. The holidays are over. Days are a lot shorter. We aren’t getting as much sunshine as usual. It’s cold outside. For me, I just want to hibernate. It can be hard finding the motivation just to get out of bed. Of course, I’m talking about what is clinically diagnosed as seasonal affective disorder, more commonly known as seasonal depression or the ‘winter blues.’

And, while it’s always worth stopping and doing a bit of a self-check on your mental health, it can be crucial during this time of year to keep the seasonal depression to turning into something much more serious.

Rooster was kind enough to hop on with me and talk about this phenomenon on the latest episode of Phone It In. We chat about when we struggle with this sort of thing (shocker: it actually hits Rooster harder in the summer than the winter), and some things we do to cope with it.
