I Don’t Know What a Javelina Is, but It Runs in Majestic Fashion

Someone caught a javelina running like the wind out in Tucson, and it is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in nature.

Full disclosure, I have no idea what a javelina is, but I saw this clip come across my Twitter feed and absolutely knew it was the type of thing that SoBros Nation would love to see.

Somebody better put Los Portales Apartments on notice ’cause they got javelinas out there RUNNIN’ shit now.

I’m sorry…I thought the NFL Scouting Combine was in Indianapolis. I didn’t realize it was out in Tucson -AND- that they were letting javelinas compete.

Okay. So, as it turns out, if you actually click links sometimes, they give you more information. I clicked on the link that Hannah here provided and learned that:

Javelina, also known as collared peccary or musk hogs, are herbivores (eating cacti, insects, fruits and seeds) found in Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and south all the way into Argentina.

What do ya know? A ‘musk hog.’ Sounds like something that would definitely belong in the deep south, and maybe we do have a different kind of musk hog ’round these parts….but nope…they stay in the American Southwest and all the way down to South America.

Wow. Who would’ve thought this would turn into such an informative post? Sometimes, I write really stupid stuff, but every now and then, I get the chance to really educate the masses….just like today. That’s definitely the most rewarding aspect of my job.
