Nashville Reviews: Tennessee Cobbler Company

"Big Natural" Stoney Keeley makes his way out to the Tennessee Cobbler Company truck on the latest edition of Nashville Reviews.

I have been on the food truck game here in Nashville all week. It’s probably the reason I’m going to come out of this quarantine about a hundred pounds heavier than I was before. But, hey – I’m just trying to do what I can to help out. Last week, my girlfriend and I checked out the Tennessee Cobbler Company as we were out on a walk.

That’s right – we were trying to get our fitness on, walked right by this truck, and made it about 100 feet before we were like, “weeeeellll….maybe we should try this place out.”

Sure enough, we each got a cobbler and boy there went our “workout” for the day. We walked home in our workout clothes stuffing our faces with cobbler.

I’m short on pics here because, honestly, I was trying NOT to think about work. That’s usually what I do on these little decompression walks in between day job work and SoBros Network work. But, it hit me a couple of days ago that this would be an opportunity to keep our ‘Nashville Reviews’ series running through the quarantine, and maybe shine a light on some of the food trucks out in the area trying to GSD during this global pandemic.

Check out the Tennessee Cobbler Company here.

Ratings

Food: 6.7/10 – I tried a bit of both cobblers and the peach is far and away the better option to me. If you can get me to like any fruit more than blackberries, you have performed some kind of wizardry. That’s just how diehard #TeamBlackberry I am.

This is a MASSIVE helping of cobbler – like…you’re going to have some labored breathing if you down this whole thing…especially if you’re in the middle of what is supposed to be exercise. It was a little too sweet for me, but I have a pretty particular palate when it comes to sweets, so if you’re the ‘sweeter the better’ type, then you probably won’t be able to get enough of this stuff. If you don’t get the scoop of ice cream, there’s no point in doing it at all. Go big or go home, cowards.

Value: 5.4/10 – Wasn’t blown away by the receipt, but wasn’t really bothered by it either. It’s right there in the ‘fair’ category, which is all you can ask for these days. $7 seems a little high for a dessert until you actually see how much they give you.

Overall: 6.05/10 – If you have a sweet tooth, but want something fresh, fruity, and filling, this could be your go-to. If you want a light snack, this ain’t it, chief. I loved both flavors – the play here is to not supplement this with a meal, but instead to make it your meal. I know that’ll be my game plan when I see this truck from now on.
