The Titans Get a Steal in Kristian Fulton in Round 2

The Tennessee Titans played it patient with the cornerback position, and it paid off, with Kristian Fulton sliding to the Titans at #61.

To say that Kristian Fulton sliding to the Tennessee Titans at #61 overall was a surprise would be an understatement. Nonetheless, here we are. Fellow Titans fans, you’ve absolutely GOTS TA be ecstatic about this completely unlikely GIFT falling in your collective lap.

The biggest need on the Titans roster heading into this draft was easily cornerback. Not just a body, though – they needed to infuse some speed into that unit. Ultimately, the Kansas City Chiefs aren’t going anywhere, and I feel like a broken record, but I’m gonna say it again: they need someone that can run with the Tyreek Hills of the world wherever they line up. Now, the Titans have the luxury of lining up Adoreé Jackson on one side of the field and Fulton on the other, depending on the match-ups. That’s speed, baby. That’s real speed.

And, if you’re still not convinced, just check him out going stride for stride with the electric burner that is Henry Ruggs III (who was the first receiver taken in this draft, mind you):

It ain’t just the speed with Fulton, though. He’s athletic to go with it, and he’s built pretty well for the NFL, standing at 6’0″ and weighing in at 197 pounds. The kid’s got polish, and played against some of the best receivers in college football.

I’m all in.

I don’t know what it is about J-Rob and the 2nd round – Derrick Henry, A.J. Brown, Harold Landry, now Kristian Fulton – just insane. The man is a wizard. We all know he’s one wheelin’ and dealin’ walking BDE factory. But, I’m beginning to think there’s some legit black magic going on here.

I tell ya – I was pretty down on taking an offensive tackle in Round 1. No knock on Isaiah Wilson. I just didn’t see the value. If you would’ve told me, “Stoney – the Titans will get Fulton in Round 2,” I would’ve calmed down right away. I mean, I would’ve taken Fulton at #29 and Wilson at #61 in a heartbeat if you asked me about it before the draft.

Sometimes, ya just gotta wait and see how things are gonna pan out. Now, the Titans have the juice the secondary needed, AND they have Isaiah The Giant to boot.
