As the days continue to add up, people are quickly becoming desperate to find things to do or watch to keep their minds off of the state of the world.

You’ve listened to every episode of your favorite true crime podcast, binged watched Tiger King and rearranged the living room twice. It’s time for you to put some joy back into your life. It’s time to binge the greatest medical television show of all time, Scrubs.

Scrubs was the brainchild of Bill Lawrence, the mind behind Spin City, Cougar Town and Undateable, and ran for eight seasons. The atrocious ninth season will not be spoken of here since the majority of the cast acts as if it never happened.

One of the ways Scrubs connected with its audience was through the use of music in the show. The song selected for a scene played just as an important part as any actor did when trying to display emotion. The song was in many ways a character in its own right.

The show helped ignite the careers of many struggling artists. The career of Joshua Radin wouldn’t be what is today without Scrubs. Colin Hay of Men At Work had his career resurrected due to his songs being used on the show.

There simply isn’t a show in television history that used music as profoundly as Scrubs did. I have amassed a massive playlist paying tribute to the show. The only downside is that the songs from the musical episode are not on Spotify.

Scrubs is available to stream on Hulu.
