As you guys know by now, I’ve been out and about in the area surrounding Nashville the last few weeks. With restaurants closed down, it’s left us with sub-optimal conditions for reviewing restaurants (breaking news, I know). So, I’ve been trying to catch up on my food truck game, as BestFoodTrucks.com tells us every day where the trucks are going to be parked. I don’t think I’ve written about this just yet, but I’ve been on the hunt to find the best pad Thai in Nashville for a while now. So, when I saw that Chang Noi Thai-Lao was going to be parked up in the Wright Farms neighborhood a week or so ago, I HAD to add ’em to the list.
I went with the pad Thai, my girlfriend tried the chicken and broccoli (and gave me all the carrots), and we got an order of dumplins to split. You can check out Chang Noi Thai-Lao on Facebook. Let’s dive in.

Food: 8.3/10 – If you’re craving pad Thai, this is as good of a meal as you’ll find around. The ingredients all tasted fresh, but let’s be real here – the sauce can make or break a pad Thai….this sauce is the truth. I don’t ever feel like I get fresh sprouts around these parts for whatever reason. But, this dish was chock full of ’em (my girlfriend said the dish tasted “Earthy” so fair warning to those of you who don’t dig the sprouts). I still think Kobe Asian Fusion has the best pad Thai in town, but this is the only one I’ve tried since that made me stop and think about it.
Value: 5/10 – It was a tad costly for food truck food, but you can’t really complain when you get such a good quality meal with it. That’s why I’m giving it the smack-dab-in-the-middle, you-get-what-you-pay for 5/10.
Overall: For those wondering, I usually throw ‘atmosphere/service’ and ‘booze’ to the ratings, but those categories don’t apply in times like these.
