Let’s face it – every day we are routinely bombarded with questions. When you’re an emerging media company in Nashville, people just want to know what your opinions are on everything. It’s only natural. And, since our duty is to serve the people, well, we have no choice but to be present. That’s the SoBro Way. Also, aren’t mailbags just a barrel of laughs anyway? Welcome to the newest weekly recurring feature up in this bitch: The SoBros Mailbag. As always, use #SoBrosMailbag to hit us up on Twitter.
Question:
This week I learned the advertising agency behind Ernest tried to cast a replacement Ernest when Jim Varney passed away. What other character should never be re-cast out of respect to the original actor?
— brett (@thebrettclark) May 14, 2020
Answer:
Uhhhh….first of all, this is news to me and that is complete and utter bullshit. Who the hell thought they could land that one? Tryin’ to pull the wool over our eyes, I don’t think so.
I want to say Wolverine because of Hugh Jackman, but we all know it’s inevitable that Marvel will plug in someone else to get that character into the MCU.
So, I’m going to land on Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. Between his actual performance and knowing how long he worked to get that movie made, he’s earned that.
Question:
Who is the most annoying celebrity, and why is it cardi b?
— sobrostan (@sobrostan) May 14, 2020
Answer:
Is it Cardi B? Shit, I don’t know, Stan. I don’t pay attention to a lot of celebrities. Honestly, I’m just surprised you didn’t say Katy Perry. Since there’s no cop-outs on the SoBros Mailbag, I’m gonna have to give you an answer and say Skip Bayless. Does he count?
Question:
Could SCOOB! become your favorite movie of 2020 by the end of tomorrow night?!
— Brandon Vick (@SirBrandonV) May 14, 2020
Answer:
Abso-fucking-lutely. I am so cocked hard diesel about this movie. I can’t wait – Scooby-Doo is an icon of Americana, and I’m in desperate need of that new movie experience right now.
Just for the record, here’s how I have 2020 ranked so far:
3. Bad Education
2. The Invisible Man
1. The Gentlemen
Question:
When the first person told Snoop Dog the joke “why does Snoop carry an umbrella? Fo’ Drizzle”, do you think he laughed hysterically?
— Oh My Gourd (@SoBroCadbury) May 14, 2020
Answer:
I would say it depends on how much weed was being consumed. For what it’s worth, I’ve been drinking gin and laughed hysterically.
Question:
Since his day- Whats your favorite Mose piece he’s done for Sobros?
— Lady May Queen (@brittbutspooky) May 14, 2020
Answer:
One thing I love about all of you guys is how multi-faceted all of you are. We have some funny people on the team who can also write some really fun and really good content. Mose is exemplary of this.
I love the casual approach he takes to his interviews, and he’s written some really good indie wrestling stuff. But, to me, I always gravitate towards the fun stuff – his recent ‘fantasy booking’ of a Brawl for All in 2020 was aces. But, the first post that came to mind was his article about which movie Santa would win the Cage of Death. That was gold.
Happy Birthday, Mose!
