I can’t say I’ve ever been a big fan of horses, personally. That’s a shame because I grew up with horses all over the ranch out here in Gladeville, Tennessee. It was always a respectful relationship, don’t get me wrong – I would feed them….pet them sometimes…but we always kept a safe distance.
Even as a kid, I understood how powerful they were. My parents would gear me up and put my lil ass on a horse from time to time, but I don’t really remember it. As I got older, I tried to avoid ’em – just didn’t like the fact that those things could kick the soul out of my body if they felt so inclined.
Now that I am a grown ass man of 33 years, I’m doubling down on my take on horses. Especially since I’m 280 pounds – good things just don’t happen to big bois in situations like this one. Take this dude, for instance:

Buddy, that’s a dislocated shoulder, and I’m not entirely sure what you thought was going to happen here. I have no idea why you decided to tackle getting on this horse in the manner in which you did. This isn’t a case of the horse acting violent and kicking the teeth out of some man’s skull, but it’s still an important illustration of just how devastating trying to ride a horse can be.
Listen, I know us big ‘uns ought to be able to enjoy the finer things in life just like everyone else. But, maybe let’s leave the horses to the cowboys and the jockeys. Otherwise, we risk planting our face in the dirt and knocking a few lights out.
Thank you for attending my town hall today.
