We ain’t out of the woods just yet when it comes to this quarantine. So, that means I am still on that food truck grind. But, I had heard of today’s truck of discussion long, long before the quarantine was issued (even though, as longtime friend of the brand, RHog, pointed out – this wasn’t actually a real quarantine. Anyway…). See, the mythology surrounding The Grilled Cheeserie has grown astronomically over time. It is synonymous with the Nashville food truck scene.
So, when I saw it pop up in Hermitage on the BestFoodTrucks.com map, I knew my girlfriend and I had to pounce. Opportunities like these simply are not born every day.
It was a beautiful early summer day here in Tennessee, so we decided to venture out, pick up food, and go post up by the lake to enjoy ourselves for a little bit. She got the Spinach & Artichoke Melt, while I went with the B&B of Tennessee off the menu. We ordered some cheesy tots to share. Folks, I am here to report that it was good, and I’m happy to add to the positive mythos of The Grilled Cheeserie.

Food: 6/10 – Smooth, buttery, and cheesy – I know it’s not exactly poetry to call a grilled cheese sandwich ‘cheesy,’ but listen – I’m just a regular ass dude that talks like a regular ass dude. Those are three words that popped into my head first. On the B&B of Tennessee, it really is the jam that sets it apart from being just an ordinary grilled cheese. The Spinach & Artichoke Melt tasted like artichoke dip on toasted bread – that might sound disgusting to some of you, but you’re talking to an APP KING who happens to love artichoke dip.
Value: 6.12/10 – Any time I catch myself going “hmmm…nice” after paying for a meal, you’re going to get an above average value grade. Was it as cheap as going to the Sonic and getting a grilled cheese? No. But, $21 for two entrees and an app is a deal these days. Tip included, I spent about $30 (probably wouldn’t tip that much without a global pandemic going on that’s straining the economy, tbh, but you do you).
Overall: 6.06/10 – The Grilled Cheeserie very much lived up to expectations. The only reason I wouldn’t put it on the ‘elite’ list is that it was an awful lot of cheese. That made for a very rich meal – I couldn’t eat like this regularly, but when you have the craving for something like it, it’s the absolute best. Suck on that, Panera Bread and Sonic.
