Hope you guys picked up San Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon off the waiver wire this week like I did. That 49ers offense looks like it’s going to be a bit of a committee approach with every guy getting their fair share of touches, especially when they’re matched up against a weak opponent like the New York Jets. Plus, we don’t really know what’s going on with Raheem Mostert after he suffered a mild MCL sprain. We’re still awaiting word on just how long he could be out.
McKinnon was a hell of a play this week, though – he ran for 77 yards and a touchdown as the 49ers absolutely routed the Jets, 31-16. But, my favorite play of the day? The one during which McKinnon went for 55 yards a THIRD AND THIRTY-ONE!

On A TOSS, no less! A TOSS! Are you kidding me? McKinnon got the ball eight yards behind the line of scrimmage. That could’ve been 3rd & 62 and it STILL would’ve converted.
Just an unbelievably bad start to 2020 for the Jets. They find themselves 0-2 after losing to the Buffalo Bills and now the 49ers. Adam Gase is in press conferences talking about how shitty it feels to get your ass kicked on the football field. It just doesn’t seem like things are all well and good in the Jets household. I mean, sure, the CEO is calling Gase a “brilliant offensive mind,” but does anyone really still believe that? Or, does it seem like Gase is more or less a guy that got white hot and rode that reputation to being a head coach for way longer than he should’ve been?
These are fair questions considering the Jets have looked completely inept on offense. Like, which games are y’all watching to think this man is still a “brilliant offensive mind?” That seems absurd. Not to mention, that defense has looked bad……real bad. The Jets look like the worst team in football at 0-2.
Spin cycle: maybe the Jets have just played two really good teams, Gase will get it right, and the defense will get better…..that’s what you have to tell yourselves to sleep at night, Jets fans…
