DK Metcalf Hit 22.64 MPH Running Down Budda Baker

DK Metcalf had one of the best plays of the year, running down Budda Baker on an interception return.

There ain’t no denying that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf is an outright freak of nature. I mean, the dude has all the measurables in the world that you’d want out of a #1 wide receiver, and he’s found the perfect home in Seattle. His 99.2 yards per game heading into last night’s game were second only behind Arizona’s DeAndre Hopkins. He had posted 492 receiving yards on just 22 catches so far.

But, with the lights on bright, on Sunday Night Football, the second-year man out of Ole Miss busted Twitter wide open not for his receiving skills, but for running down Cardinals safety Budda Baker on what looked like a sure pick-six.

DK Metcalf is not human. He cannot be human. That has to have been the work of a robot drone in a man’s body. I’m not joking when I say that is one of the best football plays you will see ALL YEAR. That’s going to be on highlight reels for a long time. It just isn’t something you see all that often.

I’ve heard rumblings of comparisons to the legendary Megatron himself, Calvin Johnson. While I’d suggest pumping the brakes on that kinda talk just yet, I can’t deny the force of nature that Metcalf is. He gives that already lethal Seahawks offense a dynamic that it might not have EVER had with Russell Wilson at the helm.

What the hell is this? The Terminator?

Are you kidding me? That’s almost as fast as my 2006 Nissan Altima. Listen – like I said, this is some real freak shit, and I’m not talkin’ of the WAP variety. As this dude continues to grow into an all-around wide receiver, and as he continues to work with the current MVP favorite (Wilson, in my opinion), he’s only going to get better.

As long as he’s pulling off stuff like this, it’s going to be damn fun to watch.
