Nothing like doing a food review a month and a half after we actually ate there, but here we are…talkin’ about Miller’s Ale House out in Cool Springs. I’m doubling down on the dumbassery because this whole time I’ve been hearing people talk about this place, I thought it was a Cool Springs original. Some local flare! It even got a couple of nominations for the SoBros Awards (2017 or 2018…’Best Spot to Grab a Beer’ – I can’t really remember). I didn’t realize this is a damn chain that has dozens of restaurants in about a dozen different states. But, hell – if I can review Applebee’s on SoBros Network, I can damn sure review Miller’s Ale House. Pitter patter let’s get at ‘er.
Our resident film critic, Brandon Vick, his wife, his wife’s sister, my fiancé, and myself all ventured out to Cool Springs after work one day. “What marked the occasion?” you might ask, if you knew that we reside east of town – well, I’ll tell you. It marked the first time that I had been to a movie theater since June of 2020. Nothing was going to draw me out of hibernation quicker than Godzilla vs. Kong. So, we figured, “hey – why not make an evening of it and grab some food while we were out there?” Miller’s was easily agreed upon – I had never been, but I was assured that there was a little bit of somethin’ for everyone on the menu.
And, by now, y’all know me well enough to know the drill – “take a picture; write a review.” For more on Miller’s Ale House, check ’em out here.

Food: 5.3/10 – It’s worth noting that we also had some delicious cheese curds that are not pictured here because I didn’t think to grab a photo of them. Oops. So, I had the Prime Burger, and it was cooked to (medium well) perfection. Just a big, juicy burger, jam-packed with flavor – you can’t beat sauteed onions and roasted mushrooms in my book. My only complaint is that it wasn’t held together too well – the prime rib completely fell off the burger before I had taken one bite. Of course, I just picked it up and ate it with my bare hand, but I was a tad bummed that I didn’t get to experience it all together. The potstickers and zingers were good enough to get the job done – worthy of note, the SAWCE on the zingers was fantastic.
Booze: 5.9/10 – To be a chain restaurant, I thought their beer list was pretty damn good. Lot of the local heavy hitters, extensive list of draft options. Pretty solid beer spot.
Value: 5/10 – I spent about $80 with a tip, but that was for two entrees, two sides, and four beers. It is firmly in that “you get what you pay for” category. A regular night, and it probably would’ve been right around $50 for my fiancé and me. That’s about the typical date night for us, so I can’t complain about going a little overboard. It’s good solid bar food, and they have some different and creative stuff on the menu, too.
Atmosphere: 6/10 – Fun, laid back atmosphere with good service. Nothing particularly unique, but a good time nonetheless.
Overall: 5.55/10 – The word I keep coming back to is ‘solid.’ Hell of a spot to grab a beer and get some Grade A bar food before a movie. It gets the ‘slightly above average’ grade based on how perfectly that damn burger was cooked. Good stuff!
