Disney Serving up a Giant $100 Panini Named After Hank Pym Has My Attention

Disneyland will be serving up the "Pym-ini," a giant $100 panini, as apart of the menu at Pym's Test Kitchen.

I’ve never been a big Disney Parks guy – actually, I’m not really a big theme park guy at all. They’re just too sweaty, and too crowded. I hate lines…like just as a hard rule in my life….standing in line is such a waste of time. Literally just standing there doing nothing when that time could be better served doing something actually productive. That’s why it takes something that really means a lot to me in order for me to stand in line these days. I don’t have time for that shit. Complete lunatic move, I know – but that’s just how I’m wired. So, theme parks have never really been the thing for me. But, all of that is about to change, folks. I can feel it. I saw this news about Disneyland running a giant ass $100 panini named after Hank Pym, and all of a sudden, I’m starting to rethink my stance on theme parks.

So how will Disney incorporate more of the Marvel brand into its theme parks? Well, one answer to that question is Disney selling a giant, Avengers-themed sandwich for $100! The sandwich is called the “Quantum-sized Pym-ini Sandwich,” a clear play on the name of (and recipe) of a standard panini sandwich. The “Pym-ini” will be made using “salami, rosemary ham, provolone cheese, and sun-dried tomato spread on toasted focaccia, served with marinara dipping sauce and arugula salad” according to Business Insider. The giant sandwich is meant to be shared by between six to eight people. There will also be a single-serve Pym-ini in a standard size, which will retail for $14.50.

Six to eight people, huh? I’m reading this piece wondering if I can take down this beast by myself. Challenge accepted, Disneyland. Wait, how the hell did Hank Pym end up having the kitchen named after him? Put some more respect on the good name of Hank Pym. All the fucking work he did, and y’all are just giving him “the kitchen.” SMDH. Do you know why they call them Pym Particles? That’s right – ’cause Hank fuckin’ Pym came up with the formula. And, this is the thanks he gets? A big ass panini named after him? I mean, come on, Disney!

Real talk – salami, rosemary ham, provolone, and sun-dried tomato spread sounds pretty freaking phenomenal. And, the fact that there isn’t already an Avengers or Marvel themed branch at one of the Disney park is astonishing to me. That feels like a license to print money. If you stop and think about it, it’s pretty absurd what a cash cow Marvel is in this day and age. I know this is a post about a $100 panini, and I don’t want to really get that deep on that matter…just some casual food for thought. Avengers Campus does look pretty sick, though:
