Nick Saban Threw Some A+ Shade at Jimbo Fisher

Alabama head coach Nick Saban had a priceless reaction upon hearing that Jimbo Fisher said some ignorant stuff.

Did this happen weeks ago? Sure. I meant to blog about it back then, but life happens. Sue me. I’m not going to stop, because I still think this is something that the world needs to see. I want to shout this video clip from the top of a mountain. So, let’s dive in. Alabama Crimson Tide head football coach, and the greatest college football coach of all time (yes, I’m biased. Roll Tide), Nick Saban, was recently presented with the information that Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher said that at some point while Saban was at Tuscaloosa, he (Fisher) was going to kick his ass.

Now, are these guys friends? Sure. Probably. Maybe – hell, actually, I have no idea. Saban could very well be the type that if you’re not on that Alabama sideline, you might as well be dead to him. A bunion is of more use to Saban than someone not affiliated with the Crimson Tide program. Anyway, my point here is that it’s probably just a little ribbing between longtime buddies. Nonetheless, take a look at this clip and watch Coach Saban eviscerate Fisher without saying much of anything.

In golf?” Holy shit, coach – that absolutely bodied me. But, the laugh, and what he did with his face when he giggled and said, “I’m sure there will come a day…” That is the crushing blow here. He could not even get that out with a straight face. Just halfway through that sentence, the idea of a Jimbo Fisher-coached football team beating him amused him so much that he let out the slightest of little giggles. He also worked in the fact that Jimbo Fisher used to work for him, a reminder of just who daddy is in this relationship. Of course, in true Saban fashion, he went on to compliment Fisher and that Aggies program, and hell…you never know. But, when last year’s team was one of the best in the school’s history, and they had a valid argument for being one of the College Football Playoff teams, AND they just so happened to STILL get beat by Saban’s Alabama squad 52-24…well…y’know…it’s easy to see why the thought of losing to Fisher might be a bit laughable to Saban. Just saying.

This is when you know you’re like the godfather…when someone says they’re going to kick your ass and all you do is laugh right in their face. Indeed….Nick Saban truly is a national treasure. We must protect him at all costs.
