What’s Harder? Being Blocked by Tim Tebow or Being Hit With a Pillow?

Tim Tebow blatantly tried to commit a homicide against the Browns on Saturday!

Listen, I know the internet is really going to town on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback-turned-baseball-player-turned-tight-end Tim Tebow. It is probably beneath me to just continue to pile on the guy, but that’s exactly what I’m going to do. What can I say? I love a good football folly, and that’s exactly what this is. There’s absolutely no way we think Tebow is actually going to be a difference-making tight end at this stage in the game in the NFL, right? We have to get all the entertainment value we can out of the guy while we have the chance. And, if we keep seeing clips such as this one from Saturday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, we damn well better hurry up, ’cause I don’t think we’ll be getting many more chances.

THAT MAN HAS A FAMILY, TIM! My goodness – I’ve never seen such malice and vitriol in a block! In all seriousness, that is soft as baby shit. I would almost be willing to give Tebow a pass on this one because it is the preseason, and he’s an older fella within the context of NFL football. But, to just spin off that guy and then bounce into your own teammate – that is damn near inexcusable. That’s what makes it look like you really have no idea what you’re doing out there. I’m not saying that is the case for Tim Tebow – I’m just saying that’s what it looks like.

I’ll admit – I was pretty sour on the Tebow signing to begin with. It’s just hard for me to imagine that totally switching positions, on top of the length of time he’s spent away from the game, could translate into success in the league in 2021. It really seemed like Urban Meyer and company reaching to bring back some sort of magic from the old Florida Gators day. And, it just piled on the criticism of Meyer for not really understanding the differences between the college game and the NFL. Plus, there are an awful lot players who are probably more deserving of that roster spot, but nope – we’re going with Tebow. And, this is the kinda shit we’re going to get for it. *shrugs*
