I made it two days into the week before I had to turn off sports talk radio – the Sunday Night Football showdown between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots is all anyone wants to talk about. Now, listen – I’ll admit…I am rather stoked about the visual of Tom Brady marching back into New England and completely eviscerating the Patriots (that’s what I think is going to happen). This is going to be high drama in primetime. It’s literally a chess match between Brady and Bill Belichick. But, the fanfare has undoubtedly reached a fever pitch, and I dare say, it’s just a bit much. Maybe it was NBC setting the tone early by releasing a promo video for the contest to the tune of Adele on last week’s Sunday Night Football broadcast. I remember Al and Cris seemingly not knowing how to react to that, and I can’t really blame them. We’ve gone too far now.
Hello from the other side. @TomBrady returns to New England this Sunday night.

Did I…did I miss something? Were Tom Brady and Bill Belichick actually lovers all those years in New England? That’s what I’m gathering here today and I don’t know why that’s not immediately headline news – both of those men have families. This is scandalous – it’s cheating. And, no – not the same type of cheating y’all always want to talk about involving the Patriots. Scorned love is all that Adele writes and sings about, I’m pretty sure, so that’s the signal y’all are throwing at us, NBC.
I really can’t ever remember another game getting this kind of treatment – like we’re about to watch two exes fist fight each other. It’s almost like NBC is just trying to sell all the juice and the sizzle and the drama because the game is probably not going to be that good. But, I’m here for it – let’s just go full on soap opera with this whole thing. At the time of this writing, the Bucs are favored by 6.5, and I’d call that a value folks. Then again, there’s a reason the sportsbooks make so much money off of asses like me. Regardless – I am ready for this game.
