‘Tis the season, as they say – every brewery in the world is shelling out their takes on Oktoberfests, and pumpkin ales, and everything in between. Nashville is no different – I won’t claim to have had every fall seasonal in town (this is growing into a pretty damn good beer city, so that’s impossible to do in one season, okay?), but I’m willing to say I’ve had a whole hell of a lot of ’em at this point. So, I figured I’d share what my Nashville fall beers Mount Rushmore would be up to this point. If you can think of one I should try, let me know in the comments, and if I haven’t tried it, I’ll put it on the list. LFG.
My Favorite Fall Beers in Nashville
Fat Bottom’s Firestarter – I haven’t even been able to find any of this around town this season and to be honest, I don’t even know for sure that Fat Bottom is making it again. But, this is hands down my favorite fall seasonal in the city, no questions asked. Has been since I tried for the first time a few years ago. It’s like a campfire in a can….that gets you drunk. As a fan of getting drunk and campfires, this beer checks both of the major boxes.
Tailgate’s #Basic Pumpkin – Some people may have their gripes with Tailgate, but that hill out in West Nashville is one of my favorite spots in the land. I’ve tried a lot of pumpkin beers from breweries all over the country, and this nice mix of smooth and sweet can stand with any of ’em. It’s my favorite pumpkin beer in town.
Mill Creek’s Oktoberfest – Mill Creek is starting to climb the Nashville Brewery Power Rankings in my book. I’ve yet to have a Mill Creek brew I didn’t love, and their fall seasonals are no different. They make a really good pumpkin cream ale that is stocked in my fridge at the moment, but it’s their Earthy take on the Oktoberfest that knocked me off my feet. A+.
Hutton & Smith’s Rocktoberfest – Okay, I know Hutton & Smith is technically Chattanooga, but I don’t care. It’s within a couple hours, so I’m going to count it. Rocktoberfest is a highly drinkable take on the Oktoberfest that is rich, full-bodied, and bursting with flavor. I could 100% pound this shit like water.
