2022 Nashville Area Restaurant Watch List

Stoney Keeley looks at some new spots, and previously undiscovered spots, that he plans to venture out to this year to cover for SoBros Network.

It’s one of my favorite pieces of the year. I don’t know what is about ‘Nashville Reviews’ on this site, but you guys seem to dig it. It’s been one of our most popular regular features since we started making a more concerted effort to get out there and do more reviews in 2018. It’s become one of the focal points of our brand, and I’m constantly thinking about the next spot to try. So, at the end of every year, I look back on places I tried, or places that a friend might’ve recommended that I wasn’t able to make it out to, and I come with my Nashville area restaurant watch list. These are places that didn’t get a review from me in 2021, but are on my list to tackle at some point in 2022. You get my drift – only smart people read SoBros Network, and guess what…you happen to be reading SoBros Network.

2022 Nashville Area Restaurant Watch List

Assembly Food Hall at 5th & BroadwayInsta – Listen, I know we try not to be so touristy on this website, but damn, how can you ignore this place with all it has to offer? Believe it or not, I still haven’t been! I mean…I usually do try to avoid the heart of downtown Nashville, and if you listen to the SoBros Power Hour, you know how jaded I am about that. But, this is one place that I absolutely have to go see what all the buzz is about.

Hugh Baby’sInsta – I had Hugh Baby’s for the first time ever as a Nashvillian late this last summer, and immediately acknowledge it as one of the best burgers in Nashville. Now, full disclosure – I was sloshed after a day of drinking and playing games at the Game Terminal, but I do plan on getting back out there at some point this year and writing a full review of this place for the site.

Liberty CommonInsta – There are a few restaurants hidden in plain sight downtown, and I would consider Liberty Common among them. I had a delightful brunch there with a dear friend this past year, so instead of annoyingly snapping photos and jotting down notes about my meal, I opted to spend quality time with those around me. Shocking, I know.

Pegasus Pizzeriafull review by Steven McCash – Steven swore by Pegasus, and I was able to try it for the first time during our Halloween livestream of Drinking With…The Cell. It’s fantastic, thicc Detroit style pizza that instantly worked its way into the rotation. People are going to start finding out about this place and I can’t wait for y’all to.

Prost & Riot (Mount Juliet)Insta – Mount Juliet could use about a dozen more places like Prost & Riot, given how crowded my part of town has gotten as of late. Prost & Riot features a fantastic European style beer tap with a lot of brews that you don’t see every day ’round here. Their pimento cheese is to die for, as is just about everything I’ve had off the menu so far. Not to mention, the beer garden is a hell of a place to hang out when the weather’s nice. I’m looking forward to getting out there and writing this place up right.

The Ridgefull review by Steven McCash – I’m always lookin’ for new BBQ joints in this city, and this man Steven McCash told me he went three or four times in one week or something like that. It’s gotta be good if that’s the case, right?!!?

Tennessee Tatercakes (food truck) full review – Yeah, there’s a whole ass review of Tennessee Tatercakes up on this site, and it’s nothing really new to me….I just have to mention it every chance I get, as it’s my favorite food truck in the area right now.

Pelican’s SnoBalls (Mount Juliet) Insta – It’s the best shaved ice around town, and there are approximately eight billion different flavors to choose from. Eventually, I’m going to try them all and do a power ranking, kinda like I did for Sips out in Hermitage.

The Yee-Haw/Ole Smoky spot at 6th & PeabodyWebsite – Again…I’m going back to the “not to be touristy…” argument, BUT….this place is pretty damn cool. I went back in September as apart of the AmericanaFest kickoff, and while, sure, it’s Ole Smoky…it’s going to feel a bit like a tourist trap…it was a lot of fun. I’ll admit it. I will stand up and say it without shame. I enjoyed something downtown.

Shop Springs Creamery (Lebanon)Insta – It’s a haul out there. It’s technically Lebanon, but it’s about halfway between Lebanon and Watertown. It’s worth the drive for some of the best and purest ice cream you’ll taste. It made for the perfect Sunday drive.
