It’s no secret that Dave Gettleman was doing the best that he could to send the New York Giants back into the 1950s era of football. I swear that man fell in love with any pot-bellied lineman he could draft. I genuinely believe he would only draft offensive and defensive linemen, the hog mollies as he called them, if they’d let him. You know how some coaches have that assistant on the sideline that pulls their belt back to keep ’em from running out onto the field? Gettleman had a guy keeping him from picking up the phone and drafting linemen at every pick. So, as a Giants-adjacent fan, which is to say that I’m marrying into a Giants fan family, I was absolutely ecstatic to see this franchise hire Brian Daboll to fill its head coaching vacancy.
This man has been nothing but steady everywhere he’s been, and now he finally gets his shot to man the ship somewhere. I even love what he said in his introduction press conference about Daniel Jones, essentially saying they were going to implement a system tailored to his strengths. Sounds like coachspeak, but just look at the improvement Josh Allen has had under Daboll. There may be hope yet, Giants fans.
But, going as far to film the man driving into his parking spot outside the Giants facility, getting out, walking in, and shaking hands seems a bit much. I get it – it’s the social media era and everyone needs their content….but this one felt a little contrived. What do you guys think?

It is some kind of vibe, I guess. How much did United Airlines pay to sponsor this little Twitter bit? Shit, somebody tell ’em I have a ton of Twitter bits they can sponsor if they’re up for sponsoring content like this. The suit and the truck are sending conflicting messages – I don’t know what I’m supposed to think about Daboll. Is he a blue collar guy haulin’ furniture to the dump for his friends in exchange for a six pack of Bud Light? Or, is he a professional business man? I don’t know.
Is it his truck? Did the Giants make him drive that thing across the state to get there? Or, did he just choose to do that because he doesn’t mind makin’ the miles along the highways? I just have so many questions that I never knew I’d ever have about Brian Daboll. He is truly an international man of mystery.
This clip also spawned a bunch of dubs in the comments. Though the Stone Cold Steve Austin dub is a close second, I’m going with The People’s Court theme.
