Science knows no bounds. It’s…like…the coolest thing about science. You can just say some random shit, and then there’s an entire method for proving whether or not it actually makes sense by the laws of physics. I don’t have a Mount Rushmore of things that are cool about science off the top of my head, but if I did, I think that would definitely be one on there. The video clip I’m writing about today is another good example of how science seemingly knows no bounds. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Or, I guess I should say…if you want to recreate a mummy’s voice and can find one that’s still in relatively good shape, you can probably 3D print its vocal cords and go from there.

So, the internet got me on this one. I laughed and laughed, and apparently, it’s an edited clip from a MC Ride song. An all time prank, internet. Really. I just couldn’t fathom the idea that you’d go to all this trouble only to have that mummy shouting like a spider just landed in his lap or something. Here’s the original, and it may be more underwhelming than any of the spoofs. The original clip sounds like someone just received some disappointing news that has really just dampened the mood. It’s like when you’re craving ice cream and you roll up at Haagen-Dazs only to discover they closed 10 minutes ago. That’s the same noise I make in that situation.
Regardless, it made for a highly entertaining Twitter thread as some of the parodies and banter posted successfully had me completely waste a solid 30 minutes before I kicked myself and said, “get back to work, Stoney – you can’t spend all day finding dubs for this clip.” I’m a big fan of science in general, and clips like this help me to remember why. I can’t wait to see what’s next – any chance they can recreate a mummy’s dick? That would be pretty sick.
Also, this whole bit is apparently two years old and I just never saw it. But anyway, in my opinion, this is the best one yet:
