The party is very clearly still raging out in California after the Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI after a tight battle against the Cincinnati Bengals. We saw head coach Sean McVay showing up to the Monday morning press conference with a shaky voice and bloodshot eyes. We saw Matthew Stafford pounding diet Budweisers at the Rams parade. Now, the city itself is getting involved! Great! They decided to just put ‘RAMS HOUSE’ – the relevant hashtag/marketing mantra for Rams fans – right there on the big ol’ famous Hollywood sign. Take a look at this master craftsmanship for yourself:

Did they….did they just let the Rams do this themselves after about 15 hours on a bender after winning the Super Bowl?! I mean, I don’t get it. If you’re going to do something, don’t you want to do it…y’know…well? Or, is this a situation in which Rams fans should remember ‘it’s the thought that counts?’ I felt like I was losing my mind trying to read what that sign actually said….like it was one of those posters from the 90s that hung in every doctor’s office waiting room…on the surface, it just looked like a lot of shapes and colors, but if you stared long enough, eventually, you’d see the outline of some subliminal form. That’s what this was like – I just stared at the video until it made sense in my brain.
In a way, there’s a metaphor here. It feels like this is the perfect encapsulation of how much Los Angeles really cares about football. This is the ‘congration you done it’ cake of celebratory Super Bowl signs.
