A new year has arrived, so that means it is officially time to start reflecting on the best things from the previous year. In other words, it’s awards season baby! Normally, the Golden Globes function as the official start to award season, but since they got in a little trouble last year, NBC decided not to air them in 2022. The Grammy’s will honorably serve as the end to award season when their awards are presented this Sunday.
‘Music’s Biggest Night’ will commence from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be hosted by The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah. The band leader for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jon Batiste leads all nominees with eleven nominations followed by eight-time nominees Doja Cat, H.E.R., and Justin Bieber. Despite the numerous nominations by the aforementioned artist, a strong contender to steal the night is 18 year-old singer/actor Olivia Rodrigo. Rodrigo will be a favorite to win many of the seven awards she is up for. R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan, who released one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2021, is up for three Grammys, and I will be shocked if she does not go 3 for 3 at the end of the month.
Below are my predictions for 24 of the 86 awards to be handed out. The 64th GRAMMY Awards will air live on CBS and on Paramount+ at 7:00 CT on Sunday, April 3.
